  • Midnight vanished as soon as the sword hits. This time, however, she appeared on a high platform. Yelling some magic spells, the ground began to shudder. Out of the ground leaped five seemingly strong iron guards. Their eyes blazed a fiery red color. One of them mashed the group apart and grabbed the doll. Another one charged on Magnus and Arratay. Two kept the others busy. One just stood there. Not moving anything.
  • OOC: You're going to have to put in some kind of input, Oritigo. My apologies, but I'm not going to keep this going with just one other person.
(And I'm sure as hell not going to take over the boatload of characters that are currently idle.)

IC: "Uwah?!" Was the noise both Alden and Arratay made, nearly hitting each other as the girl disappeared. They were then thrown aside as an iron warrior charged through them directly at the doll, grabbing her.

"Hey!" She yelled irritably. "I'm not some damsel in distress you can just kidnap whenever you feel like it!"
Yet, despite her struggles, the golem would not release her.
"Fine, then! Arcane Blast!" The Kria doll placed a palm directly on the golem's chestplate, and blasted a hole directly through it with a wave of pure arcane energy.

Magnus glared at the approaching Iron warrior, standing his ground as it approached. Once it began the motion for a swing of it's weapons, the arms general closed in with a surprising amount of speed for such a large man, grabbing it's sword-arm by the wrist.
"Wrong move." He said. There was a horrible screeching sound as Magnus tore off the warrior's hand with absurd ease. "You would've been better off being made of steel."

As for the Matriar twins, they were back-to-back defending themselves against two of the iron golems.
For a brief time, they appeared to struggle. But the warrior Alden had been fighting had overswung on it's attack, providing him enough time for a decisive counterattack, thrusting his blade in it's face.
Tanis, being the faster of the twins due to her lack of armor, had the definite speed advantage. She managed to roll away from the warrior's overhead slash, which very nearly went on to hit her brother in the back. She then tripped the warrior with a quick leg-sweep, and right as the iron being hit the ground, stomped hard on it's throat. (Assuming it had one, anyway.)

Tanis, her foot still on the warrior, turned to the last remaining warrior yet to be brutally dispatched.
"Well, what is it?! Come on, then!" She taunted.

  • OOC: I agree with Stryder. Also, I would like to note that Midnight and April have different voices.

The iron golem stood for a second. Then, out of nowhere, a blast of energy obliterated the golem who stood there. His head flew with extreme speed at the entrance, knocking out the doors. After the smoke pulled up, there was a young lady standing there. "What are you doing here? This is my research area. I came from one of the catacombs up to see a whole group of adventurers here." Then she looks at the remains of the golems. "What the... Did those things come out of the ground?" She gets a small notebook and notes what she sees. "Iron... Golems... Rising... Magic? Necromancy?" Then she looks at the group. "Oh. Yeah. I'm April. Last year student at the Twin Academy. Came here for research."
  • OOC: sorry for my absence. Computer's hard drive crashed and burned, and I was waiting for my replacement.

Y: He opens his eyes and glares at April.
"April. What exactly are you doing here?
You had better have a very good reason for such an extended absence."
He taps his foot and crosses his arms over his chest, appearing like a frustrated parent to the girl."

S: Sahrah nuzzles her head into Tristam's chest gently before feeling a chill run through her body.
Her eyes turn black and lifeless as she suddenly jerks away from Tristam and speaks in a voice not her own, now much deeper and more menacing.
"Useless fools. I give them one job and they screw it up royally."
She mutters softly before turning to Tristam and sneering at him.
"Heh. So this host had a companion?
    Oh well, such is life."
She begins moving out the door, past Tristam, then stops, holding her head as her eyes' color returns. However, her eyes roll back in her head, exposing the whites and she lets out a bloodcurdling scream of agony.
Between the screams, several words are clear.
    "TRISTAM! PLEASE, HELP ME!
    IT HURTS!"
After that, her body collapses to the ground, writhing and flailing as her screams continue, now louder than before.
  • "Wow. I didn't know a dad would pop up and tell me what to do." she said. "And I told you already. I'm here for research. And I'm soooorry for my absence, but some stuff needs to be done." She bows as an excuse. "But... In the name of the Angel, what are you doing here? I was supposed to get back as soon as possible, but then you popped up. These catacombs contain high concentrations of dark magic." She smiles. "And everybody knows that's my favorite subject." She grabs her notebook and puts it in her backpack. "And of couuurse you just went here breaking stuff. By the Angel. Couldn't you just have.. Ugh, nevermind." She shakes her head. Then she turns to the others. She smiles. "Don't get much visitors here though. Would you like something to eat? Got some sandwiches."
  • Rye groaned, looking up to see the kitsune girl that had suddenly appeared, and immediately had a confused look on his face. In fact, all the beastfolk had odd looks on their faces, doll included.
The wolf groaned again in pain, managing to pick himself off the ground despite the nasty purple gash in his back.

    "The hell...?"

The beastfolk were no fools, they could see the similarities between this stranger and the being that attacked them. Similar build and height, but that was about it.

"What?! We didn't break anything!" Tanis spoke up. "It was that stupid Midn-"
She was suddenly silenced by her brother, holding her muzzle shut. "Forgive my sister. We are here hunting for a necromancer responsible for the disease our city has suffered. Surely, you must have heard of it."

Wrenching Alden's hand off her mouth, Tanis whispered furiously to her brother.
"The hell are you doing?! Don't tell me you don't see the-"
"I do, sister. But for now, we must act without raising suspicion, act like nothing happened."

    ---------------------

The half-demon's eyes widened greatly, staring in shock as Sahrah was suddenly possessed by... Something.
Demon, of course. The eyes give it away. Said Tristam's own inner demon, remarkably calm despite the situation.
Why do you sound so bored?!

As if the screeching of his girlfriend (Yes, he'd freely admit that, now.) wasn't enough, her yells has apparently caught the attention of the owners of the Inn. All of them.
The door was smashed open with unnecessary force, revealing the childlike Kitsune Sylvia, and Finnian.

"AH-HAH! I KNEW IT!" Sylvia shouted, pointing an accusing finger at Tristam. "I hope for your sake you suddenly became filthy stinking rich!"
"Not now, Syl!" Said Finnian. "The Lamia! Just look at her! What the hell's happening?!"
    "I don't [CENSORED] know!" Was Tristam's response.

    Knock her out. Now.
    What?!
A good solid shock whack might sever the connection. If not, you will at least have gained more time to find a solution. I think.
    YOU THINK?!
    JUST DO IT ALREADY!

"Hold her down!" The half-demon ordered, and with only a second's hesitation, both kitsunes restrained Sahrah, limiting her movement quite easily.
Gritting his teeth and trying not to think about just what could go wrong, Tristam struck Sahrah hard in the back of the head, though not hard enough to cause a fatal injury, he believed.

  • Y: Hearing the somewhat disrespectful tone towards this girl's headmaster, one of them at least, he makes a mental note to pull April aside later to give her a stern talking to.
He smiled. Not a broad, beaming smile, mind, but a small tug at the corners of his mouth.
Disrespectful as she was, he could see a bit of his friend's youth in this girl. Disregard for the rules in the name of knowledge. A refusal to leave until her work was done, regardless of the consequences.
    He shakes his head.
"As for our reasons, they are entirely unrelated to yours, and you need not-"
He was cut off by Alden, and he shot a slight glare at him.
He closes his eyes in thought as April bounced from topic to topic. An active mind, or perhaps one that is too easily distracted?
"I am not hungry, though I thank you for the offer."

S: As Tristam struck her, she collapsed, the fits subsiding, and her breathing calming somewhat, though she still gave the occasional wince and groan of pain.
Surprisingly, this state lasted only a few minutes before a dark aura quickly enveloped the room, masking all within in darkness. Upon attempting to exit the darkness, one would simply emerge in the other side, trapped in what could only be described as darkness.
  • Finnian was the first to comment on the situation the four of them, including Sahrah, had gotten into.
"Well, great. I give a couple the key to a room, and find myself trapped in the abyss of gods knows where. Lovely."

Without warning, Tristam's eyes took on a lifeless, demonic look as Abaddon abruptly took over.
Hey, what the hell are you-
"NOT IMPRESSED!" He shouted into the darkness, voice magnified and distorted. "I CAN DO THAT, TOO!"

You know, most people call me insane...
That's what happens when I try to reason with people, they don't like it, and I eventually end up turning them to charcoal in the end...

  • "Unrelated? A whole group comes storming into these catacombs, make a hell of a noise, and then act like nothing happened?" She put her hand on her hip and makes a 'Don't believe you' face. "I know these structures better than everyone else. Well, except that sleepy head down in the sacred room. I don't know who she is, but I'm sure she's some kind of magician. And that fucking ghost everybody talks about. Midnight or something. I'm not bothering with that, I don't believe those stories of those old men. But that seems..." She shivers. "...creepy as the devil himself."
    Then she heard the wolf.
"Eh. I think your friend needs some help." she said. "Just sayin'."
  • S: Out of the darkness, a deep, booming echo comes forth, coming from all directions at once.
"You amuse me, Abaddon. I sincerely hope that you jest."
A lone figure can be made out from the darkness, signified by glowing red hair and eyes.
"It shames me that demons today lack the ability to recognize their superiors."
The figure becomes clearer, a figure chained by his hands and feet to four corners of a cage.
"Or perhaps, have you forgotten me?
The War of the Spirits should ring a bell in that case."
The figure comes clearly into view but still hidden, seeming bright as day yet black as pitch, right next to your face but impossibly far away, loud enough to split your head yet softer than a feather's fall. A complex paradox that would strain most mortal or rational minds if they attempted to comprehend it.

Y: A bit of attitude at his words was one thing, but disregarding his final judging?
(April! You will show respect when you speak to me!
I am your headmaster, and it is by my grace alone that you are not dragged back and punished for abandoning the school!
My word is final! Any further attempts to undermine or talk back to my decisions will be met with punishment, understood?)
He shot this message off in a telepathic blast at April, strong enough to shove away any blocks or forethoughts from her mind, making his words first and foremost in her mind.
(Any information I need from you can be extracted at my leisure, so coming with us is your choice. I will be inclined to forget this matter ever happened, should you remember your manners.)
  • Finnian stared at the powerful being with wide eyes. As for Sylvia, she stood next to the other kitsune, confident and apparently fearless.

The demon, though, crossed his arms. "Ha! Superior, my fiery ass! If you were so 'superior' to me, then why exactly am I still standing here, mocking you?"
Abaddon then proceeded to... Stick his tongue out at the strange being.

"Name escapes me, but you're that guy who went around erasing people from time, right? If that's the case, then I'm less than impressed, as you were useless enough to get sealed, it seems."

    ----------------------

Rye scoffed at the kitsune. "I've had worse." Despite his words, however, every movement made him wince a bit in pain. And that was just a little too much for the Kria doll to stand.
"Can it, Tringham. Now hold still, I shoulda done this a while ago."

After a quick, muttered incantation from the doll, the pain from Rye's wound lessened considerably as the gash began to close.

"As much as I would love to stay and chat..." Said Arratay. "We should go and see if this magician of yours is who we're after."

  • Y: Gives April a glance, then sighs gently mentally.
(No need to feel sad. Perhaps I was a bit..... Excessive in my words. My words were not meant to hurt you.
    Now come on. Cheer up.)

S: the demon gives a small smile at Abaddon, followed by searing pain sent through his body, as though each and every atom in his body were being torn apart. The pain would last less than a second to all others, but seem an eternity to him. When the pain subsided, no visible mark would remain, but the pain could still be remembered.
"Fool. Next you speak to me, it shall be with proper respect."
His gaze encompasses all of them.
"I AM ABYSSION, THE TIME RENDER!
SHOULD YOU WISH YOUR LIVES SPARED, DESTROY THE WEAPONS KNOWN AS THE DEVIL'S ARMS!"
With that, an image of each of the Devil's Arms was implanted into each of their minds.
He then looked back at Abaddon.
    "Any more questions, pitiful creature?"

  • Right before the pain hit, the demon's eyes took on a vacant, distant expression. For that brief second, he seemed to be in a coma-like state.
Of course, he regained awareness right after the point the torture ended, only feeling a dull ache.

He had his fun. Tristam's eyes returned to their natural color of red as he regained control of his own body.
As for abys- Scratch that, Abaddon wanted to call him "Abe".

As for Abe's demand... The half-demon sorely wanted to tell him, and I quote, to go Fuck himself. The flaw in that plan, however, was the fact that this guy would no doubt, A. Kill them. And B. Find some other poor sap.

He sighed, knowing he had no choice in the matter. He glared at Abe as he made his decision, most definitely not happy about it.
"...Fine. Just tell me where to find the damned things. Or am I just supposed to go doom every living thing without even a hint on how to do so?"

This is why I didn't want to get attached... Too many potential hostages.

    ------------------------------

The group of beastfolk shared identical looks of skepticism as they followed the kitsune, still tense from their previous battle, and their weapons still drawn in preparation for another possible fight.

You know, most people call me insane...

  • Y: keeps his scythe handy and follows April into the catacombs.

    S: Abyssion smirks at Abaddon.
"The weapons are drawn to places where chaos is absent. Places of absolute law, absolute order.
However, by their very nature, they are also drawn to places devoid of such values, to places of chaos and madness.
These weapons require no guardians of their own.
If they deem you unworthy, then you shall not be able to hold the weapon and retain your sanity."
  • *A long trip in the undergrounds later*
"C'mon people! You can't tell me you are too tired to carry on!" She whistles a tune.
"Ah look. Here we are." A giant door, decorated with demonic runes is pulsating with a dark aura. Not even the darkest black could describe the door's color. April pulls a pair of gloves out of her pocket, and yells "Stand back. I'm opening it in a sec."
She grabs the big handle and murmurs some magic words. Then, she focuses all her energy in one spot and blasts the door open.
    "Come on in! "
  • Tristam only glared at the sealed being, his arms crossed.
"Noted. Now can we go now? I was planning on having a nice meal with Sahrah before you screwed with everything."

Right as the half-demon said that, a voice, feminine but oddly distorted, was heard in the the Time Render's mind.
"Heeey... You hearing me, Abe? This is probably going to piss you off, but I've got some uninvited guests that I can't deal with, them being the academy blade-master and some wild animals. I'm already moving all of my equipment, but I'll be needing a distraction or risk losing years of work. So if it's not too much trouble... Maybe send a meat shield my way?"

    ----------------------------------

Alden stared at the kitsune coldly.
"We are trained soldiers. We don't tire that easily." He said.

The beastfolk watched as April broke down the large door that was Somehow beyond black in color. When I say broke down, it was pretty much literal.
They didn't question it though, and they slowly and cautiously entered through the door.

  • S: Abyssion simply smiled and sent back a response, not in words, but in a painful jolt, resulting from the voice's origin having all but the final 10 years of her life shaved off in an instant.
(You should know better than to ask a favor of me, foolish girl. I could slaughter you in an instant if I so chose.
If you know of me, then you should know that I do not tolerate weakness. If you fail, it is of your own failings.
Now, if you ask anything else of me, I shall do these 'guests' of yours a courtesy, and save them the displeasure of meeting you. Understood?)
He returned her years to her, in a process even more painful than tearing them away.
(And, for the record, never call me Abe again.)
He smirked at the 'crowd' and the darkness faded, leaving Sahrah unconscious on the ground.

    Y: sighs audibly.
"The magic on that door was relatively weak. No need to make a show out of opening a door, April."
He walks through, letting the earth under his feet tell him of any obstacles in his path.

OOC: Need to cover one thing.
The Devil's Arms do not have a fixed shape. They mold themselves to their wielder. However, anyone who is attuned to chaos, or can sense chaos even slightly, would feel something akin to a vortex, seeming to pull law and order out of the air.
Nearly all people who have these weapons can't feel this, and simply regard the weapons as "unlucky" due to the effect they have on their bearer.
The weapons, when wielded by Abyssion, are as follows:
    Nebilim - Twin Blades
    Evil Eye - Chakram
    Disaster - Bow and Arrow
    Heart of Chaos - Staff
    Fafnir - Dagger
    Soul Eater - Greatsword
    Diablos - Greataxe
    Gates of Hell - Scythe
Apocalypse - Spiked Greaves (Lower leg guards)
  • OOC: Thanks, Oritigo. I think one has been taken by a specific kitsune...
"Aww, come on Headmaster. Don't ruin the feeling. " April exclaims.
"Well, anyway. I think that is the woman you are looking for. I can't break that seal though. Only a powerful magic tool can open it." She grabs her backpack and opens it up. She pulls out something that looks like a small dagger. "Aha... Here we go. THIS tool, to be specific." She points the handle to the group. "Who wants to have the honor?"
