  • "Well, fine! The voice said, seemingly unaffected by Abyssion's magic. I ask for ONE tiny inconsequential thing, and this is what I get?! I guess you can say goodbye to that soulless army, since you're too arrogant to bother save the one person working on it! Goodbye, Abe!"
And with the sound similar to that of a phone disconnecting, the telepathic communication had ceased before the Time render could retaliate, and the caller's "signal" could no longer found by him. It was as if she'd vanished off the face of the earth.

Tristam, Finnian, and Sylvia, however, were completely unaware of this.
"Straight to the academy, you think?" Suggested Finnian. "Either Yuushio or Oritigo might have a solution."

The half-demon shook his head. "No. He can't be stupid enough to let us go freely, he's probably watching us right now, ready to zap us if we so much as look at those two funny."
The taller kitsune groaned in frustration. "Oh, nice to know I don't have privacy anymore! So much for bathing, since we're going to be spied on at all times!"

"There's a spell for cleaning yourself off, you know. Makes showering kinda pointless." Said Sylvia. "Oh don't look so surprised. Magic solves everything these days."

Tristam sighed. "Nevermind. Is Sahrah alright? I did end up smacking her in the back of the head, after all."
"Probably a concussion." The nine-tail said. "Only a little one, but still. She'll be feeling all sorts of funny when she wakes up. Provided you didn't cause a coma."
    "Don't say that! Just... Don't."

    -----------------------------

A scream was heard, seconds before the dagger, Fafnir, was plunged into the seal. Though, what that seal was sealing in the first place, remained unknown to this narrator. (Seriously, what seal?)
It was not a scream of pain, nor even fear, but rage.

One could hear incomprehensible ranting from the voice, female from the tone, and the sounds of heavy objects being thrown about, but that was it so far.
Someone was in a hurry to leave.

  • Y: As Fafnir broke the seal, Yuushio felt a large amount of chaos surge from the weapon.
    "W-What the hell?!"
He dropped the weapon, letting the earth hold it and carry it for him.

S: opens her eyes and groans in pain slowly.
As soon as she recognizes Tristam, however, she leaps at him, sobbing and holding onto him tightly, burying her face in his chest.
    "T-Tristaaaaaaam!
    I-I was so s-scared!
    It was d-dark and c-cold and I w-was a-alone!"
Her grip on him tightens as she cries, still frightened.
  • April walks to Yuushio and picks up the weapon. She looks at him questioning. "What's wrong? It's just a dagger. It can be a bit deranged, but..." She looks at the dagger. "It's something I found in the catacombs shortly after I heard you. It needs some more research." She looks back to Yuushio. "I... I need to think." She walks to the door, a bit confused, with the dagger in her hand.
  • Y: Glares at April as a vine reaches out and grabs the dagger, taking it back to Yuushio.
"April. As talented as you are, you are NOT permitted to research this dagger. There are waves of chaos flowing from it. If mishandled, I feel this dagger could warp the fabric of reality itself."
He closes his eyes and breathes a deep sigh.
"However, neither can we risk destroying it. Such a burst of chaos could destroy everything around it."
  • "That dagger comes from this place. It's a weapon imbued with dark magic. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think I'm the best person to research this item." She exclaimed. "I am not going to use it. But it seems like it's reacting with you, but not with me." She points at the dagger. "That dagger is extremely powerful, I see that now. But it seems to affect the one who found it. Like an owner-servant relationship." She opens her hand. "But please. Give me at least a chance to at least take a look at it. Headmaster you know I won't use it for bad purposes."
  • It was all the half-demon could do to stay on his feet as Sahrah crashed into him. However, he managed.
"It's alright, Sahrah." Tristam said, hugging the Lamia tightly, not even caring how soft it made him look. "You're fine. It was... Just a bad dream."

He looked towards the two nearby kitsunes, who immediately got the message, heading back downstairs to resume running the restaurant.

    -----------------------

"Look, I hate to interrupt..." The master general Arratay began. "But if we don't get moving, whoever's up ahead is going to escape."

  • Y: The vines surrounding the dagger strengthen and tighten.
"April. I can not be sure how the dagger would affect you. If this were a lesser artifact, I would allow it, but this dagger is just overwhelming. It is not dark magic that is in this dagger. This weapon is not inherently good or evil. It feels as though it exists solely to break down such trivialities with raw chaos."
Hearing the general speak, Yuushio nods.
"We must press onwards. There is no time for debate."

S: Squeezes Tristam tighter, her body still shaking, though her sobbing was lessened by his touch, now only an occasional shudder.
    "T-Tristam. I......"
She looks up at him, her shaking stopping when her eyes met his.
Without stopping to think, she leans up and kisses him on the lips softly, her cheeks growing red as she did so.
  • She mutters something in a foreign language. "Fine. Let's get onwards then." She walks downwards, into the deep unknown.
The dagger, however, started shining an orange light. It seemed to burn the vines. It also started pulling to the door, the way April was walking to. It seemed like the dagger wanted to return to its owner. It acted more and more aggressive when the sound of April's footsteps faded. Then, it started chopping around. The small dagger was certainly struggling to get out of Yuushio's grip.
At last, it flew out of the vines, still shining and vanishing the way April went.
  • Y: "Oh no, you don't!"
The vines wrap around the dagger again as Yuushio makes some quick gestures over the vines with his hands.
After less than a second, the dagger is trapped in a ball of stone 6 inches in radius, being carried by vines.

OOC: Word of advice from my Dungeons and Dragons games.
Don't try to alter the Dungeon Master's plot.
  • Right as the kitsune yelled from the darkness, a dark brown blur shot past her. Looking up ahead, she'd see the master general Arratay waving back at her as he ran. And he ran like a god-damn ninja.
The other beastfolk were not too far behind. They were just as anxious to catch the mystery magician as April probably was.

    *Meanwhile, deeper into the tomb.*

"Crapcrapcrapcrap! Where's that book?! There it is, in the bag you go!"
A small, blurred figure was rushing about a large open space, tossing random bits and pieces of furniture and research equipment into a tiny bag. The funny part, though, was that the bag itself seemed to have unlimited space.
Basically, it was one of those old-fashioned "Bags of holding". She even managed to shove a whole chair in there with little difficulty.

The place was a mess, too, as if a whirlwind had come through. Books were strewn about, several of the pages ripped. Vials were shattered on the ground, spilling their unknown contents.
The girl stiffened as she felt the final lock on her defenses break down. She could already hear those goody-two-shoes rushing her way!

This only made her quicken the pace she was going at, causing even more of a mess. Just a little longer, and she'd salvage enough of her belongings to pack up and find somewhere else to resume her experiments.

    ------------------------------------

Tristam's eyes widened, and his face instantly grew hot as he suddenly found himself brought into a kiss by his Lamia friend.
It's not exactly like he resisted, though, quite the opposite. To him, this could potentially be the last time he saw her, forced to serve an all powerful entity an all that nonsense.

Probably best to make the most of this moment while he could.

  • "Wolves... Always trying to be number one." She grins. Then, she closed her eyes and thought of the place she wanted to go. A small poof later, she appeared in something that looked like a room. "Hey! What are you doing?" she yelled to the girl. "Packing already? I thought you'd want to meet some of my, uh, 'friends'. They were kinda in a hurry to see you." She looked at the mess. Then, she saw a very familiar mask. "I guess this is mine."
  • "AIIEEEE!" The girl jump at least a foot into the air, whirling around to see the kitsune behind her. Now that she'd temporarily stopped her mad dash, her appearance could be told with certainty.
She was a small, young-looking girl. Probably 13 or 14 by appearance alone, and without a doubt carried demonic blood.

The magician seemed almost relieved to see April. At least she could be civil. But that didn't make her any less panicky.
"You know I don't see visitors, my work is too delicate! The only reason I'm leaving is because a now very angry Time Render knows exactly where I am! I'm not sticking around to see what he's going to do as retaliation!"

Now paying little attention to the kitsune, the magician snagged a large red gemstone off a nearby table, an odd humanoid figure just barely visible inside it.
    "That's everything. Time to-"

    *BANG!*

The tiny magician jumped again as the door to her room burst open, a wolf wielding twin hookblades entering the room, accompanied by several others, including the academy blademaster.
She then paled, beginning to back away from the soldiers.

Nononono... Not now... I'm too close... Was the thought currently running through her head.

  • She looks at the girl with suspicion. "Eh." She turns to the group. "Are you sure this is the one you seek. She seems, euh. I don't know. A bit young." She turns back at the girl. Then, she vanishes into thin air, to pop up behind the small magician again. She pulls a face and yells "BOOH" behind her.
  • Y: walks calmly into the room, letting his scythe balance on his shoulders.
    "All right girl."
He flicked his hand on his scythe, making it spin around his wrist until it ended comfortably in his hand, the blade pointed straight at the girl.
    "Start talking."
He didn't specify about what. Leaving it open ended potentially produced better results.

S: As Tristam offered no resistance, she embraced him and let the kiss deepen, growing slowly more passionate as her body gently coiled around his.
  • "I think a more delicate way is much better with people like her. You know demonic creatures have big powers." She pushes the scythe away from her. "And I, well, know her. A bit. So, just let me talk to her." She bowed in front of her and whispered something in her ear. (Look. I can't hold on much longer of acting like no thing's wrong. And I certainly know there's something. Stop denying my help. I don't want to hurt you. Not me...) She nods to her backpack. (And not her. Just answer the questions. I don't even care what you come up with... Truth or lies.)
  • The magician's eyes went wide upon seeing the weapon that was pointed at her, but right as she was about to say something, her attention was caught by the ball of stone near Yuushio.
"You... Where did...? Do you even know...?"

She shook her head, seemingly not noticing April's whispering, and looking up at the blademaster.
"My name is... Beatrice. I'm a researcher, of sorts. This is my home. Or, was my home."

"In a cavern littered with beastfolk bones?" Asked Alden skeptically.
"The soulless decided to wander inside. I disposed of them in a way that makes sure their death won't do any harm."

"Question. You're researching what, exactly?" Asked Tanis.
"Two things, actually." Said the girl, Beatrice. "Dark magic in general, and the weapons that were once called the "Arms of Chaos". I see you have one with you right now." She sent a glance towards the ball of stone near the blade-master.

    -------------------------

The half-demon squirmed only slightly as he felt himself being wrapped up, but let the Lamia have her way.

  • "Then that means I know something you don't." Said Beatrice, starting to regain an air of confidence and smug superiority. "And that something, I'll have you know, is real important. End of the world kind of important."

    --------------------

The half-demon stiffened up, worried over the possibility he had managed to hurt Sahrah's admittedly fragile feelings.
"What's wrong? Oh, don't tell me it was something I did..."
