  • "Its odd that you bring up some.. eternal hellhole." He tucked his knees to his chest and rested his chin on them, as he wrapped his hands around them. He got a look of boredom or disappointment. "because that is my existence.... I have existed since a time immemorial. I was created in such a place."

    OOC: Clik

"thats when she... he... it. That is when IT came to me. I don't know what to call it, so for now I will simply refer to IT as a deity. It made a promise to me... It promised me that, in exchange for 'a certain type of work' , I could have power and I escape. I would temporarily lose most of my choice, and I would have to simply cause hysteria and whatnot in other places. I was a purveyor of chaos and death. Little did I know of the loophole; There is infinite work for me to do. That may not be so bad... if it were not for the punishments. ONCE... once... once I had failed, I had been bested and banished from the physical realm somewhere... When I returned, He... he slowly tore off each of my nails... he ripped out an eye and burned my face.... He burned it with blazing hot tongs; though they left no mark they did take away something dear; hope. I had realized by now that if I succeed, I would be punished. If I failed, I would be punished. For so long they got worse and worse, And I never had a single way out. It drove me mad... realizing I existed only to feel pain, realizing I was just some torture doll... He controls it. My flow of power, my goals... all I want is to end it, and the only hope is to complete the WORK THAT CANNOT BE COMPLETED!" he suddenly stood up, delivering a blow fueled by rage. This was not rage caused by anger, but by crippling depression. it cracked the seal around him slightly. he was crying slightly.
    WHAT HAVE I DONE

  • The half-demon in question just gave Sahrah an odd look, wondering what the blush was about before shaking his head and moving on.
And for the record, the chances of Kor dressing fancy were pretty much Nil. Even if he did, he'd probably complain endlessly.

"Where is he, though...?" He asked nobody in particular. "He wants a duel, but never said where to meet... The arena...? Yeah, sounds about right."

    ------------------------------------------------

Kiha's glare intensified. "I'm not in any mood for a lengthy explanation, as heart-wrenching as it may be; I was looking for Sylph, not a fairy and two demons."
Despite saying this, she stayed. Her expression did not lighten in the slightest, and she didn't seem at all sympathetic to the demon's state.

Shaking her head, she muttered something about having "No time for this nonsense", before walking off.

You know, most people call me insane...
That's what happens when I try to reason with people, they don't like it, and I eventually end up turning them to charcoal in the end...

Why are you looking at me like that?

Despite popular belief, I did not draw the avatar I'm using. I can't draw.
  • "And you probably still look down on me and up at plague, don't you?" he taunted, smirking a bit. "THAT'S the other thing. NOBODY has time to listen... not time to pay RESPECT to people." Suddenly the crack grew larger, and the ground beneath him cratered. "THEY THINK THAT JUST BECAUSE I AM A DEMON EVERYTHING IS INTENTIONAL!" Suddenly the dome was reaching a breaking point, and the ground beneath him was getting a bit deep. "I HAVE BEEN DRIVEN INSANE; NO LIVING THING DESERVES INSANITY! WHY DO YOU THINK I AM TRYING TO ESCAPE PLAGUE?! HE WANTS ME TO DRIVE HIM INSANE!" Suddenly the dome shattered, and he seemed to be charging straight at beatrice. He had a fist pulled back, but ran right past her and into a slightly wooded area, where a loud explosion-like noise could be heard, along with the fall of about 13 trees... all from one punch. In the back of their minds, they could hear "Now, if you will excuse me, there are things to be done before I get punished again and stuck back inside of Plague... and if you see him soon... "he was suddenly right in front of sefie, his head tilted a bit with a couple loose strands of blonde hair dangling in front of his face "tell him I said hi." He stated, before putting his hands behind his back and walking off into a sudden dense fog, dissapearing.
    WHAT HAVE I DONE

  • Zarak leapt to his feet when Poofers jumped to the ground and mewled at him, then began walking towards the Arena, Zarak following close behind.

Sahrah nuzzled Kor and smiled. "Well, win or lose, you're still my Kor~"

Sefie nodded to Lazarius. "I will." She then remembered. "Oh, dragon lady! If you're looking for Sylph, I can take you to her!" She landed on Kiha's shoulder and smiled.

Aska smiled and embraced Luna, letting her sleep in his arms.

Oritigo smiled and looked into what Claira saw in their future.

Yuushio was starting to doze off when he felt two students approach the Arena, and warped there to meet them.
  • After an indeterminate amount of time had passed, both half-demon and Lamia had found their way back to the academy. Before long, they were on the path to the arena.
That was also when Kor spotted his opponent. Quickening his pace slightly, he approached, walking beside Zarak. "So. I hear you wanted that duel. I hope you know what you're getting into." He said with a smirk. "I wasn't trained to lose, after all."

    ------------------------------------------

Kiha looked to the fairy on her shoulder. "You can, can you?" She said, her skepticism clear. "If that's the case, then lead the way, I've no better alternatives."

    ------------------------------------------

Yuushio wasn't alone in the arena; Upon warping there, a familiar fiery spirit was in the stands, waiting. "Oh, hey there blademaster!" She called out. In an instant, she was right next to him.
"Rumors say you went out with that dragon lady a little bit ago! So how'd that go?" She said with the absolute cheekiest smile possible on her face.

  • Yuushio gave a glance to Salamander and nodded. "It went quite well. I am proud to call her my friend now."

Zarak smirked as Poofers jumped up onto Kor's shoulder and licked his cheek. "I wasn't taught to lose either, my friend. But, I wish you the best of luck." He extended his hand and smiled at Kor.

Sefie smiled as Yutis and Fairess crashed into Kiha. "Sefie! You called?" "Yes, Yutis. This lady was looking for us." "Looking for us? Whatever for?" "I haven't the foggiest idea." "Well, let's ask her!" They were all circling around Kiha's head so fast it was impossible to distinguish the voices from each other. "What do you wish of Sylph?"
  • "What... You three?" Kiha asked, her eyes widening. "Oh good god..." Her hand went right into a satchel at her side, pulling out one of the flasks Yuushio had given her; In one quick motion, she'd removed the lid and downed at least a quarter of it in one swig.
"I need to... I wish to learn wind magic, and master it as soon as possible. I figured learning from the spirit representing wind would speed the process quite a bit."

    --------------------------------

Now outright smiling, Kor grasped his friend's hand and gave it a firm shake. "Same with you; You're one of the few in this academy who I didn't want to punch in the face."
Before long, the door to the arena was visible. The half-demon separated himself from Sahrah's grasp. "I'll be expecting you to cheer nice and loud, you know. Might be the difference between winning and losing, so no pressure." He joked.

    --------------------------------

"Excellent! You're welcome, by the way!" Though Salamander was smiling, she was mentally cursing. 'FRIENDS?! T-that's all?! But they were perfect for each other!'

  • Luna ended up falling asleep, smiling as she did laying in Aska's arms, dreaming of Aska of course.

Hnile let go and looked to Icy. "You are a spirit like me brother, did you died in life too...?" he asked puzzled. Icy slowly nodded his head in a despaired way. "So I see you met my summoner Celsius?" Icy said looking to Celsius. Hnile nodded his head happily.

  • OOC: Summoners are the ones who summon the spirits. Zarak, Icy, Claira, Denise, and Hnile are summoners. The spirits are what is summoned. Aska, Celsius, Maxwell, Undine, and Luna are spirits. Just clearing up confusion.

Zarak walked in and approached Yuushio. "Headmaster! I wish for a duel with Kor Tristam!" He smiled and took off his robe, tossing it beside Sahrah, whim Poofers was curled up against at the moment after kissing Tristam and telling him she would cheer as loud as she could for him. "No stakes, just a friendly little sparring match." He cracked his neck and stood across from Kor.

Yuushio was glad for the interruption from the fire spirit. "Very well. Do you both submit to the will of the Arena?"

    Sahrah was shivering in anticipation.

Sylph nodded. "We can certainly do that. When do you want to start?" Yutis intercepted a drop of the drink and was now quite clearly drunk. Severely. So the circle had an occasional wonky segment now.

Aska smiled and fell asleep with Luna, dreaming of her.
  • "I do." Said Tristam, taking Soul eater in hand, only to plunge it into the ground. Internally, he winced; even if he couldn't really dull the blade, it still didn't sit right for him to do that. If teach saw him do that, she'd be pissed, to say the least.
He then unsheathed his old bastard sword. "On one condition. No tricks, no spirits, no demon hitchhikers. Just me, him, and both our weapons and skills. We both have advantages that could be considered unfair."

    ------------------------------

"At any time it is convenient, if you will." Kiha said. "I do want to start as soon as possible, but I do not want it to cause you any inconvenience."

  • Zarak nodded. "Just what I was thinking."

Yuushio nodded. "Then, let this duel begin!" He then stepped back to watch and observe.

Zarak stepped forward and his sword thrust forward in a swift jab, amplified by his mana. "Sonic thrust!"

Sylph nodded. "Well, the first thing you'll have to do, which may be difficult, is surrender to the wind. Trust in it to guide you. If you try and take back control, the wind will leave you. Unlike fire, which must be bent and controlled, lest it destroy, the wind is fickle and prideful. It cannot be tamed. Just surrender to the wind, and learning can begin."
  • [OOC: Here, have a battle theme.]

Kor side-stepped the admittedly quite quick thrust, and had then swung his own blade in a downward arc, aiming for the light-mage's extended sword hand.

    ----------------------

"So, other words, you are telling me to relax. ...I suppose I can do that." Kiha then took a deep breath, entering what seemed to be a sort of meditative trance not unlike what one experiences when in a state of serene mind, only... Well, different.

And that, my friends, is what happens when a writer simply gives up on writing details for a certain action.

  • Zarak quickly retracted his hand and took a few cautionary steps back, then began circling Tristam. "Good. You're still quick, and didn't underestimate my first strike."

Sylph shook their heads. "Not relaxation. It is a state of complete and total surrender. Only then will you feel the wind, learn its call, its desires."

OOC: Then do I just say Hnile and Icy are ghosts, since they are clearly dead but in ghost form (or spirits) in this matter...? By the summoner thing, I messed up on that, I didnt mean to type that...

Hnile then whispered something into Icy's ear, in which he blushed a little and shook his head, Hnile giggling a bit.

  • "You know as well as I do that it's best to never get hit at all." Kor said, standing his ground as his opponent circled.
He then smirked. Again. 'I've seen and felt this done so many times... I think I can manage it by myself.' He thought as a dark energy surrounded his body. "Now you see me..." The dark energy exploded outwards in all directions, and the half-demon was nowhere to be seen. "...Now you don't!" Came a shout in his voice behind Zarak as Kor swung at his back.

    -----------------------------------------------------

Kiha shook her head. "I... Can't..." She admitted. "It's... Not something I can do. All my life, I've trained to never surrender to any force, strong or weak, my very instincts as both dragon and warrior work against me in this matter."
The dragonkin turned, and began walking away. "I'll study it myself for the time being; Perhaps, after some time practicing, it will be easier to... surrender, as you put it."

She tossed the partially drained flask of Yuushio's brew towards the fairies. "This is for your trouble."
