For me a LPer has to be: Funny but serious when needed; Playing good and interesting games, maybe some Underground games too; He/She should never spam or flame poeple (except him/herself :D ); The quality of the video should be good (480p or higher) and he/she should not play always the same games and try something new too.

And that´s why Pewdie is a perfect LPer/Entertainer for me!

I do try and surprise myself aswell as my audience with my decisions on what to LP sometimes :)

    My current LPs are:
Final Fantasy X (Sort of Popular)
Heavy Rain (Started last year but rocketed in views since Pewdiepie started playing it)
Who Want's To Be a Millionaire (an absolute wildcard, but a portion of my audience seems to be enjoying seeing my general knowledge... or lack of XD)
Saint's Row: The Third (This one's been a bit of a hit and miss but I love the game and will continue the LP nontheless)

I just wish I could upload as often as Pewdie... my computer specs just aren't up to it though, it takes hours to make ONE video :\ Will upgrade before long though to feed my ever-growing audience :D

  • My best advice may not be too great since I am not an LPer, but much like many others have said, just be yourself. I mean, watching Pewdie's videos show his wacky sense of humor :) I say that you should be yourself and don't do things to impress the audience, because I'm sure the audience will be just as impressed with who you really are then if you begin wearing a meat dress and sing songs just to be out there. True story.

Not-that-long story short: Be youself and keep up the good work, bro :)
  • Well, a persons voice is important for me, but you can't choose what voice you want.
But yeah, if I don't like the voice of a person playing I can't watch. He/she can be really funny but all I hear is the voice. (If it annoys me)

And, of course, you need to end the episodes so people wanna watch the next episode, just like TV series. The person playing should also be funny, or at least THINK he's/she's funny. :)
I have not failed. I have just found 10 000 ways that do not work.
  • Again, be yourself. And more importantly, be confident about what you're doing. It doesn't matter if you're not great, but enjoy what you're doing (even if you want to do commentary and you have a crappy voice like me :D).
Have you seen a tea party taken to a whole
new level? Well my tea party features the usual stuff (tea, cake,
pastries...) mixed with video games, monsters, ghosts, blood and lots of
    screams and giggles.

Don't be shy and join the party, there's room for everyone! Here's the path to
    Rose Reaper's Geek Tea Party.

The only things I tend to do to impress my audience is let them pick what special video I have to do when I reach a milestone and it normally ends in some sort of torturous task for me XD

Thanks for the advice, everyone! :)

  • If that's not the truth I don't know what is. But yeah I am using a mac as of now and well theres not that much of game variety and softwares on this for what I am trying to do isn't the best for my purposes but yeah the best thing to do to keep viewers is variety, making sure you're actually enjoying or in pewdie's case sometimes fearing what you're playing as well as your personality being spark-ful and someone that people would enjoy to be around in person as well as just there voice and maybe a face cam.
  • This generally depends for me. I am pretty selective about the LPers that I will follow to the end. They need to have a passion for being themselves and not trying to be like someone else. To be honest you can usually only find one gem in a group of ten Pewdiepie or Tobuscus clones. I watch those people that show that they can entertain and be a gamer without having to copy what is popular at the moment. A person who isn't in it for the views, or subs gets my views AND sub.
There is always time for muffins.
  • It depends. We can take Pewdie and Cry for a example:
I love them because they really get into the story in certain games. (I follow right now Pewdies Heavy Rain and Crys Walking Dead series)
I also like their good humor. Basically you need to find a way to entertain your viewers.
