I HAVE MOVED THIS FROM THE CHATBOX
--------------------------------------------------
Hey Bros and Broettes,
If you haven't seen my thread in the YouTube section yet, well you should, cause this is what its referring to.
I've spent some time tonight, only about 2-4 hours working on this, my first 3D project since I broke up for Holidays in May.
I decided I wanted to try fully modelling Ironman, to the best of my abilities.
So my first attempt at modelling his entire body , didn't go to well, ... Actually, its not that bad, but it felt like a lot of hard work for something I was sure was going to cause problems later on.
------
So instead,
What I thought, was approach him piece by mechanical piece, which sounds exhausting...... because it actually is....
So, here you go, some progress

This was about 1 hour into the project, tackling the main faces with as few Polys as possible,
which means I can keep track of what's going on easily without getting confused
by all the lines
-
So at this point you can probably tell, im really curious to see how it would look
Turbosmoothed (High Poly) and with a quick paint job,
and to be quite honest....
and to be quite honest....
not that bad :)

To get this tight controlled high quality metal look,
I had to add more loops to the sharp angles in the face,
I had to add more loops to the sharp angles in the face,
You can tell as these areas have a higher concentration of white lines
which shows after the turbosmooth was applied these areas were very limited,
on how smooth they could get
-
Finally,
I was so bored I ended up finishing the overall helmet, to a rough level
I was so bored I ended up finishing the overall helmet, to a rough level
meaning I could get a better judge on how the poly flow
was going to go overall
TADA!

This project is now where near finished,
I merely managed to ALMOST complete a very basic layout of his head, as it lacks many details;
Such as, Overall Thickness for one,
His Eyes,
And smaller details such as vents and metal tracing around his head

I would really like to hear what you guys think of this,
And how you would like to see this implemented into my gaming Videos,
I really enjoy 3D modelling..... At times <_<
and, i feel as though, All of you would also enjoy to see this
"Behind the Scenes"
So to speak of game development.

A few ideas could be,
- Model an object/Character/Scene from an unreleased up coming title, ready for presentation on release day
- A Bi-Weekly or Monthly Model, Subscribers choice, anything from any game/film
- Tutorials to show you how to create simple assets
- Time-lapse of the model, released in videos over the week,
(Probably hour long videos, sped up and released as parts)
