This got me kinda interested but...

How serious is this project? I see its just an idea at the moment, i pack some art skills, might make some concept art.

But then again, are you serious about this, or is this just a wishful thinking out loud.
To be honest, I don't know if I can do it, if I have to code everything by myself XD.
I'm not believing in miracles here. I know the support for custom stories and all that will be a lot of work, so I will
have to focus on certain things for now. I tried to make a game for the last few years, considered switching to UDK,
Unity and different other things several times, but always ended up with Dark Basic, because I never found anybody
interested in helping with any project ( with help I mean coding ). So I'm serious about this, and I'm working on it
lots of hours a day, but I'm realistic too, this project won't be done in 2 months, maybe not even in 12 months XD.

Maybe the concept document doesn't really reflect all of my thoughts about this project, but I never had such a
precise concept for any of my projects, so I will go on with it, no matter what XD.

You know the movie saw right? where people have to do things to escape?

Or will it be a paranormalish game where you just get scared shitless.
Overall I'd like to have the feeling of escaping that building.
All the enemies should be normal human beings, but as you can imagine, hallucinations can do a lot to human mind, so this can be used for
a wide range of effects, but I don't want to have ghosts in there for example XD.

Of course there should be calm times, where the player has to focus on a puzzle, but overall I would like the endless conflict to be the real horror.

      I Can Help O__O
      i guess....
      i can make 3d animation :)
      or voice thingy..... :D
i can chang my voice in many ways :D
Do you also create 3D models?
Well, animations are pretty interesting already, since I will most likely need a lot of them later.

Hey, I do a bit of programming myself... But i suggest using Unreal. It looks awesome.
I stick to modifying current games, but i do know a bit of C++ and Java, but i LOVE lua.

If this is of any-help, let me know.

I also have quite a bit of ideas.
Especially when it comes to the quicktime-events I want to outsource some things to a script language.
I got a nice lua plugin for Dark Basic, so this would be possible.
However I will have to think of a inner logic for this, as soon as I'm working on it.

      State of developement:
I got the dropdown boxes working again. They're working very well now.
Well, there are some issues left with autosizing, but I guess I will get that working soon.
I pretty much reworked most of my menu controls by now, but the system is much more precise.
I'm happier with it now, so it was worth it.

The big advantage now is, I got them all seperated.
This results in some duplicated code right now, but I guess the code will heavily differ for the different controls later on.

As soon as I have everything running like before I will start with the list again XD.

The most important thing that changed now is the handling of the elements of dropdown boxes.
Before the reworking I used a little trick there:
I created a new menu for the elements of a dropdown box and drew it on top of the actual menu, which was deactivated.
However, that way I always had to treat the dropdown boxes in a special way.
Now the elements of the dropdown boxes are fully integrated into the system and exist as an independent object.

I guess most of you can't really understand why and how at all XD, but it's much more cleaner this way.

      EDIT:
Autosizing with the dropdown boxes is working now, and I fixed some other minor issues.
I still have to rework some functions, then I can finally start the new version of the list control XD.
Then I will be able to delete a lot of unused functions, that's always the best part of code optimizing :D.

This is how I imagine the game, but its just a simple sketch though.

But it still tells the story :)
Nice picture! Yes, that's pretty much the story right now XD.

I drew one myself real quick:

But, you nailed it pretty good, narrow corridors, lots of doors, overall a claustrophobic feeling.

i don't have office so can some one do me like wordpad version of that? :D
      or just send me picture?
I included a ".rtf" file into the pack and updated the attachment on the first post in the thread.
I hope that does it XD, the table of content look ugly though.

THIS IS GONNA BE ONE EPIC GAME cant w8 for ma pc and to download it (when its released) and yeah when do you think it wil be ready
Sorry if I disappoint you, but it's probably going to take a looooot more time until this is even a bit playable XD.
I don't know if I will include shader effects right away, well I can always turn them off to develop the rest of the system.
Maybe I will create a techdemo once I created a test level, to check out the atmosphere, but still, also this will take a while XD.

hello i would like to help you i am very creative so i would like to help you in any way

hope to hear from you - gawfy guy :D
I still need an actual storyline. The location isn't really special, basically just a big apartment building, so there isn't much you have to rely on XD.
The storyline is always my weakpoint XD.

Same here , although I think too lightly about this personally. While the story is actually the foundation of the actual game.

Since normally you first make the story and make the game , but I personally prefer in first making stuff of the game and then make a story around it. Well , you can start just a cliche story regarding the main character need to take pills for his depressions etc. but they have some side effects (geez , I wonder where I heard that)
