I don't know if anyone is gonna see this and take the hint, but it looks like we have enough people for voice acting...
Well, yes XD, but this way we can also give the NPCs different voices.
Unlike most horror games/mods I want the enemies to be normal humans like the player, except for the "psycho world" episodes,
so they would most likely say something while fighting the player or each other.

On the other hand the voices have to fit the characters they are used for, so if the voice actor is pretty young we can't just use this
voice for a big black man XD, if you understand what I mean.
No offence intended ^^", it's just an example.

      State of developement:

The last few hours I did code optimizations and cleaning only.
I managed to optimize the menu rendering from ~900 FPS to ~2960 FPS in the main menu, which is a performance increase of over 220%. XD lol
The menu rendering still takes away 2000 FPS, so maybe there is still room for improvement, but I will check this out at a later point.

Progress with the list control isn't pretty big, because of the code optimizations and cleaning, which were neccessary.
While I was further optimizing the code to implement the list control, I discovered a method to improve the performance with menu rendering even more.
The rendering of the main menu now increased from ~2900 FPS to ~4800 FPS, that's another increase of about 165%.
Also those are the ~2000 FPS it took away earlier.
Even if I turn off the menu rendering completely, it's not faster than that.
Even if I turn off the whole menu management, it's not faster than that.

I guess I hit the maximum when it comes to performant menu rendering XD. I'm now at a point, where I can say it doesn't even matter if there is a menu
rendered or not, which is pretty cool. :D

The cool thing about this method is: It's also usable if I finally implemented a fancy skin support.

I'm still on the menu. Actually I'm kind of sick of it by now XD.
Well, I could improve a lot of things, but the more performance I can get in the more complicated is the whole system.
I still don't have a working list control, so I have to work on this some more.
By now I can't wait to start the work on the whole 3D- and fighting-system, but I'd like to have the controls working first.

One thing is sure: I won't implement all the features I want for the menu system right away.
That's just too much work, and boring after a while. So I will continue the work on the menu controls, but I will keep them
      simple from now on.

I reworked the buttons, labels and dropdown boxes, but the dropdown boxes aren't fully functional yet.

Oh and one more thing for the people that wanted to provide some ideas:
I'm especially interested in ideas for the level design. Not only atmosphere but also puzzle ideas and things like that.
If you have read the concept you know of the "psycho world" (well, it should be clear to everyone that this is inspired by silent hill).
So there are two kinds of puzzles imaginable: Realistic puzzles and unrealistic ones.
I'm also a big fan of coincidences in stories, so you can even include some freaky ones into the ideas.

The situation will most likely be this:
The player is on the ~30th floor of big apartment building.
He has to get down to the 1st floor in order to escape.
There are staircases, elevators, ventilation shafts, maybe even holes in the floor.
      What happens?

Will it be saw styled with the puzzles? or just scare the crap outta yourself and don't even bother to escape game ? XD
What's that supposed to mean exactly? XD

You know the movie saw right? where people have to do things to escape?

Or will it be a paranormalish game where you just get scared shitless.

This got me kinda interested but...

How serious is this project? I see its just an idea at the moment, i pack some art skills, might make some concept art.

But then again, are you serious about this, or is this just a wishful thinking out loud.

Well , I think he is pretty darn serious due to the "quality" of his posts about what he is doing or what not.
