I might be able to do some voices and perhaps I can think of some ideas if you need them. It's better to collect a lot of ideas and get all the good elements, right?
A little advice:
Display Spoiler You could maybe make like a first version, record yourself (or someone helping) playing it (with commentary maybe) and link it to some people who watch it, and then give ideas on what to improve/add/delete/...

A good amount of ideas is never bad, especially since I currently don't have many for the level designs and actual story.
However, as I said, it's still a long way until I really need them. -
Well... So this is a REALLY big project... i can help with simple coding,colide scripts and some art work. ( Not mentioning the Voice Acting ) Also. Are you farmiliar with Dark Basic? Because, if you haven't read it, I decided to stick with it.
This would really be awesome :D.

Much easier to overview that way, and you can do some references to other ideas, in case some of them are depending on each other.

I found a nice lua plugin for Dark Basic some time ago. There is a possibility to call Dark Basic functions from within the lua scripts.
Maybe this would be a part where you could help Bleackk.
If you don't work with Dark Basic, maybe you know lua.

State of developement:
I can now load Packages, there isn't much functionality yet, but I can dynamically load gui menus from the packages already.
There are some functions that have to be hardcoded, but all the information needed from the menu is passed as parameters, so
apart from the few functions that need to be hardcoded, the menus can still be as customized as one wishes.
However, I don't have a skin-support yet, so the menus still look kind of ugly XD.
The controls I have so far are:
- Buttons
- Labels
- Dropdown boxes
Later I want to extend the menu system, so it can also be used for ingame computer monitors or something like that, but that's also
unneccesary right now.
Also the menus aren't adjusted to the resolution yet.
Currently I have only one package so the priority order isn't working yet.
Also I realized that big packages are counterproductive for the updatability, so I will most likely divide the content of the game logical
into different packages such as "main", "main_weapons", "main_textures", and so on ...
Maybe I will even have to devide the textures into different packages such as "main_texture_level", "main_texture_weapon", and so on,
because the textures are usually something like 80% of the games size.
However, this wouldn't be neccessary for custom stories, since they should use the main content in most cases, when it comes to total
conversations the same method can be used.
I'm working on the sound implementation for packages now.
Since the sound is pretty much just a "material" in my "engine", the same functionality will be used for textures/pictures, music and other stuff,

Well I´m not really good in programming things (maybe because I´m only 14 idk), but I could do German subtitels if u want to release the game in different languages (What I think would be usefull). I really wanna help with this and would be proud to work with u Bros! So if you need German Subs just send me a PM and send me the English text and I could translate it

State of developement:
I'm currently working on a list control to display the loaded packages, so I can work on the priority feature.
I could do this without a list, but I like to see my results in a real gui insetad of console outputs, and in the long
run I need a list control anyways.
- In the meantime I'm able to load menus and sounds from packages.
search through the whole package and process all files it can find.
- I can use the sounds in the menus as click and hover sound.
with this, he/she shouldn't be worrying about it working at all. You start it and look if everything is working.
Maybe there will be some possible issues that make it pretty unplayable, but I want to prevent crashes as
much as possible.
- Packages now have basic informations Author and Version.
As I said I'm now working on a list control for the gui system. Once that is done I will continue my work on

State of developement:
The last few hours I did code optimizations and cleaning only.
I managed to optimize the menu rendering from ~900 FPS to ~2960 FPS in the main menu, which is a performance increase of over 220%. XD lol
The menu rendering still takes away 2000 FPS, so maybe there is still room for improvement, but I will check this out at a later point.
Progress with the list control isn't pretty big, because of the code optimizations and cleaning, which were neccessary.The post was edited 1 time, last by grasmann ().
