Yes, if you own Source 2007 Base, it'll be free. I'm pretty sure it comes packaged with Counter Strike: Source, Day Of Defeat: Source, etc.

I think having it where his tentacles extrude from his body when the character is in the death stage would give a nice effect to it. Creepy music is definitely good for jump scare purposes. I'd say rapid heavy breathing, maybe a slight loss of sound when close to give that "presence" of him in the area. Tricky thing when it comes to horror games is not having too much "horror" to where it becomes annoying, but not having too little either to where it's too dull.

Figured I'd show some early progress of what I'm working with in terms of lighting. Please be aware this map is still very much a WIP. From the buildings, trees, fog, skybox, etc. We're just doing this to test out some code.

Looks better then the previous stuff , although again look out with fog on the Source Engine , but I hope and think you are aware of that.

Yeah, we're aware. We're just playing around with some things right now to see what suits the mod, and feel of this map.

Yeah, how long it will take to complete. Usually free source 2007 games have a EGT of 20 minutes per map.

We're aiming for it to be around 30-60 minutes per map. However, that doesn't factor in people getting scared; and running off to hide from the Slenderman.

Any from that list should work, but I'm positive you can just download the Source SDK Base 2007 from the Tool section on Steam on it's own to play mods. However, it'd probably be a safer bet if you had one of the ones mentioned in the list above. You'd be safe with Counter: Strike Source though considering that's what I owned when I first started playing mods.

Yep. Just create your own server, put it password protected and then nobody can hop in.

But is it possible to win in a single mode ? Because i read at your description that teamwork seems to be necessary to finish a map.
