It was originally designed as a wrist based device like in Fallout, but due to time constraints and the lack of hands it was easier to make it a vertical one for the alpha, we planned to change it in the full release.
We wanted to create that grounded reality feeling were you could view it at all times but it wasn't obtrusive, and held vertically infront of you.
