    • Mildred: *glare at Shin confused* Uh yyyeah? Nice to meet you too....Shin. *after getting a nod from Eldrid, accept Shin's hand confused* W-why would...*look confused*
Eldrid: *smile lightly* That is just the way the real man would treat a lady.
Mildred: *chuckle blushing a bit* But...he is half-elf I just thought...well that he would be a bit more casual, that's all.
Eldrid: I never judged of you that way now, have I?
Mildred: But I am casual. *look back at Shin and grin like a dumb kid lowering her ears*
Eldrid: *get up to remove dirty cups* Doesn't mean you're not a lady, honey. *take cups to the sink referring to guests* Are you boys hungry? *smile* I can make you all something if you want dinner.
On the outside I may appear like an emotionless sarcastic piece of shit, but just like an onion, when you peel off more layers, you find the exact same thing every single time and you start crying.

If the world didn't suck, we'd all fall off!
    • Eldrid: *laugh lightly hearing Shins stomach* No trouble at all. I believe both of you could use a nice meal. Just give me some time and I'll have something ready for you.
Mildred: Oh right! I remembered... *take a bunch of nicely folded clothes out of her bag* I brought these as asked. *glare at the robe Shin was wearing and chuckle* Nope! These will do much better. *hand him over clothes* Hope you like it. I had to wrestle one of those annoying human women to get that. Sale time sucks.

    • Mildred: *squeak but in a non creepy way and clap her hands* Yes! That clothes did their job indeed.
Eldrid: *set up the table after finishing dinner which took not too long to make with a bit of house magic* Alright, places everyone. *make sure everything is on the table including salads, soup, meat and almost anything that could be picked up in garden. Look up to Janus and smile* You as well. You need to recover as well mercenary.
Mildred: *chuckle* I wasn't starving, but seeing all this food...don't mind if I do.

    • Janus rolled his eyes, but complied nonetheless. He wasn't all tha hungry, but who was he to refuse a free meal? Those were few and far between.
He sat down at the table, taking a seat on the opposite side from Shin.

"It looks... Great. Much better than anything I could make..."

You know, most people call me insane...
That's what happens when I try to reason with people, they don't like it, and I eventually end up turning them to charcoal in the end...

Why are you looking at me like that?

Despite popular belief, I did not draw the avatar I'm using. I can't draw.
    • Mildred: *chuckle and blush a bit at Shin's comment* Not a lot of people say that. Thank you. *concentrate on her fork not wanting tu ruin the good impression*
Eldrid: *smile and nod* We appreciate compliment, Shin. Thank you. *refer to Janus humbly* Why thank you, it was nothing really. I probably could have done more but since it's dinner and you both are tired, stomach ache would not be appreciated. *chuckle* Please, take as much as you want.
Mildred: *eat carefully* Quite interesting day you all had. So lucky.

    • "It is no problem, I don't mind."
Without much else to say, Janus started to eat.

"Lucky?" He asked, then remembered the wager that he'd lost. "Oh... Yes... Lucky. For all of us."
Privately, he wondered what would have happened had fortune took another side.

I might cheat, but I don't try to worm my way out of a bet. Where would I have ended up? Probably best not to think about it.

    • Eldrid: *nod* Certainly. Both of you are more than welcome here any time you want.
Mildred: *roll eyes* As long as you don't come with the entire army chasing you. *chuckle*
Eldrid: *smile* I believe they would never let that happen to them. *remember* Oh, I almost forgot. There is a comfortable couch here and another spare bedroom. You guys decide where you want to sleep, I'll leave that to you. *refer to men* So, what are you planning to do once you reach the village?

    • "Just one question." Janus spoke up. "Who controls this village? Humans? Anyone of elven blood?"
The swordsman started looking a bit uncomfortable. "Because I'm not going anywhere within a five mile radius of any half-elven settlement. I doubt I'd be very welcome, even if they're not Desian."

    • My face darkens as I face Janus.
"There are no half elf settlements left on the earth.
The few that existed were either turned into Desian human ranches or destroyed before they could become them.
Every time we try to come together, humans destroy what we build, and kill more of us."
    • Mildred: *stop eating and look at Shin with her ears now a bit down* You too huh? *clear throat and get up* Excuse me.
Eldrid: *nod smiling lightly* It is ok honey. I know. *sigh as Mildred went out and closed the door* Well Shin, you hit the spot there. *chuckle* But no worries, no your fault. *to Janus* As far as I know you might find few humans there but I never heard there was any trouble since I get my elvish stuff from there along with stories extra. *chuckle* So you should be fine.

    • Eldrid: *nod* Exactly. That is why it is something that's not your fault. You didn't say anything wrong, she just remembered of something.

    • Eldrid: *lean on the table* Well, it was that time when humans organised unlimited hunt with rewards on half-elves for the first time. Right after it all went down hill. At that time I lived in capital city and had quite the position, I was able to know first or second handedly what will happen and what is currently going on. At one point, they arranged troupes to attack new half-elf settlement without finding out weather they were Desians or not. *frown* Long story short, by the time I got there for...reasons it was already destroyed and all of those poor creatures were killed. Mildred managed to escape the carnage and was one of rare settlers that managed to hide or run away without being hunted down. My plan was to distract soldiers so she can pull it through. I did something that caused me loosing everything but it was worth it if I saved at least her life with that. *cross arms and lean back* She told me afterwards that she was part of settlement that should have been a sanctuary and that they tried to come out with a plan to clear their name. She sadly witnessed all that and it is tough for her at some points, that is all. *smile* And here we are now. Living quite nicely if I may add.

    • My eyes widen in shock.
"So, the king himself authorized that raid?"
      I start shaking with rage.
"I thought humans hunted half elves out of individual hatred, but to sanction the slaughter of helpless innocents?!"
I take several deep breaths and calm myself.
"That is indeed something to remember."
    • *nod* Indeed, that is why she reacted that way seeing Janus and when you said that. And even worse, our leader was so determined to maintain peace with humans that he ordered for us to go and observe mainly because it was on our land, and to help if needed. Fortunately elves aren't that prone to hatred. Most of us went to help calming situation down not making it worse, but when we got there it was too late.
