      IC: "Well, do you know any doctors that take in people of elven blood, then? They're hard to come by, and they'll be expensive."
      Janus rolled his eyes again.

      "Name? Janus Vanguard, typical red-haired mercenary and wanderer, at your service, knife ears."
      The mercenary looked around cautiously.
      "And if you don't mind, I'd prefer we move on. We should at least find shelter somewhere."

      He turned to the woman whose name she revealed to be Eldrid.
      "Perhaps you might know a place? Unless you are a wanderer like myself, or homeless, both of which I really doubt, you have to be staying somewhere."

      That's what happens when I try to reason with people, they don't like it, and I eventually end up turning them to charcoal in the end...

It's not really special but it will do. *look at Shin then back at Janus* The place is right outside of the city, near the river. Of course I will show you the way.       Janus was idly flipping his coin by this point.
      "I didn't know guards needed a reason to jail half-elves..." He remarked upon hearing Eldrid's question for Shin. "It's probably something petty. They'd cut his eyes out for so much as looking at a fair lady."

    • *smirk at Janus* Yes, yes I am very much aware of that, Janus. I was just wondering why wasn't he undercover while lurking so deep in the city. That's all. *nod and chuckle* Red-headed kid would be a good idea if I was known to have a husband. And since authorities keep an eye on every bloody detail, it will be more than suspicious. However, if Shin doesn't mind it...I can make him look like an animal as well? *shrug* Just a suggestion though.

      I close my eyes and focus.
      When i open them, I see a child begging, and getting completely ignored, even by the guards, and I smile.
      "Hey Eldrid. What's the largest distance you can keep that illusion up?"

      OOC: All sounds good.

    • "No husband, eh?" The mercenary said thoughtfully, before a smirk was plastered upon his face.
      "Well, miss Eldrid... I am single right now. I would not mind proposing to someone as stunningly beautiful as yourself..."

      It took all his self-control to keep a mostly straight face upon saying that.

      Half a minute later, and Janus gave another suggestion, unaware that Shin was forming his own plan.
      "Alright... Same plan, different details. Give him red hair and human ears. We'll pass him off as a visiting brother, either yours or mine. Probably mine, since the guard apparently knows you too well, ma'am."

      I push my hair back from my face.

      "True, true. I was merely jesting. To be honest, I was expecting a slightly more violent reaction, though I must admit I'm glad don't have to worry about an armor-piercing slap. Those really hurt."

      "Ah... But seriously now. The orphan idea sounds decent, though you'll have to maintain a decent distance from everyone, else risk discovery. As you said, knife-ears, it's illusions, not transformation."

      "I shall not impose on you. My final goal is a small village to the north, Iselia.
      I should be able to take solace there."
      I lift her hand and kiss her fingertips as a gentleman does a lady.

      Janus walked to the edge of the alleyway, poking his head through the illusion to take a look for guards. He spotted the shiny armor within seconds, and ducked back into the darkness before rousing suspicion.

      "Three guards right outside, in the middle of a decent crowd. Should be easy to slip by so long as you don't run into someone and cause a scene. As for the city gates... I could just pick a fight with some poor sap. While the guards try to break it up, that's when Knife-ears will make his move. Sound good to you, or do either of you have something else in mind?"

    • *nod* Sounds good to me. But then it all depends on Shin here. If he agrees then we're good to go and get you two out of here. *smile gently* You will be on your way to Iselia in no time. I would just advise both of you to beware even outside of the city. A lot of thugs and goons around there in forest and trust me they can be pretty nasty. Though maybe two men will be the reason for them to think twice about it.

    • *nod* Very well then. *to Janus* If somebody asks, and they just might, you offered to escort me to my house. *get out of the alley after making sure no one was watching and concentrate picturing an orphan child and soaking Shin's appearance into it* That is just perfect. *nod and open eyes after a few moments and by making sure no guards were to be seen at this point turn to Shin and Janus* You won't notice any difference. But Shin you just have to beg, and Janus you make sure you don't pay much attention to him walking around. *smirk* Trust me, illusion turned out great. *give them both "come out" hand gesture while looking left and right*

    • "Escorting you home?" Janus gave Eldrid a roguish grin. "Of course. After treating you to such a lovely meal earlier this day, it would be rude to not do so."
      He chuckled silently.

      "But seriously, now. Let's go."
      He stepped out of the alley, taking position next to Eldrid. Janus figured that being by her side would make their cover story more believable.

    • I stumble out of the alley, looking as if I had been kicked out of the back of a building, and I walk along the street, asking anyone who happens to walk too near for some spare Gald (unit of currency).
      According to plan, everyone walks away from me in disgust, but won't hit me due to the image it would make.

    • *nod and chuckle back* Well of course, mercenary. You wouldn't allow a lady to walk home alone when it is getting dark now, would you? They don't really have problems with you since you're human, and they know my residence is beyond the gates, so they shouldn't ask a lot of questions. *after everyone was on their place and making sure illusion is all good and would last enough, walk towards the gates acting natural while starting a casual conversation with Janus, laughing a bit, but never letting illusion to slip while Shin was doing good behind them*
