I feel for you man. Your channels really nice. But when they say Frequent uploads do they expect the Impossible? We aren't exactly rolling in Subs and views. Whats the point of making videos if you don't have an Audience?
Yeah It's Stupid, I sometimes upload everyday too, Plus my PC and Internet it not that great so it takes me hours just to get one video ready and I spend alot of time making them.

You should upload for fun, and because you want to...for yourself really....not for anyone else.
I Upload for fun, I like making videos because I like to record them, be stupid, and play games :P Not because I dont have an Audience because I know that if you keep at it you'll get one, and thats how YouTube works. But at the same time, everyone loves a good pat on the back and get told well done, or great video or something along those lines and its that sort of thing that makes you carry on.

Admittedly I haven't uploaded in a while but I had a genuine reason, that and my internet is total crap and takes like 10 hours to upload a 7 Minute video.

To answer your question I don't expect them to screen everyone, and I'm aware they can't. Which Is why I came into this thread to hopefully get a reply...which I did...and again it was negative. Its just a really bad rule to have imo, and encourages people to make bad quality content, and just up the frequency of it. YouTube is saturated with bad videos, with people ripping off other peoples channels and the same old content out there. Wheres the quality?
They aren't a charity you know...

The quality is secondary at this point; They have to check 1000+ (probably more, IDK) channels of which they'll select the few that have good quality content and they are lucky enough.

What I'm trying to say they are doing, simply put:
    1. Filter out least likely channels by removing channels according to given rules
    2. Look at remaining channels more closely and remove the bad quality content
    3. Draw lottery, let pewds decide, or something else similar to select the channels.

If there is a problem (from the administrative stand point) I really want to know.

Ok, once again you're missing my point and now accusing me of saying they're a charity??? Where did I say that???!!! You're annoying me now. Listen...with your brain.

Its these "given rules" that are broke. It encourages people to upload crap videos frequently...which YouTube is FULL OF.

Simply making good content, having nearly 1500 loyal subs, Machinima Partner, 50+ videos and uploading one per week doesn't seem to be enough.

Anyway...I'm done. Thanks for the competition. It was a good idea in theory I suppose. Good luck to the winners...I expect to see some great things.

How frequent do you need to be? We make shorts with cinematic elements and take a bit longer than most people. The VFX we do can easily take a few days to get finished. I think every week to every other week if frequent enough for what we do. We have fallen behind since VidCon, but will have a new video up and going in the next 2 days and get back on our schedule.

  • You all say this that and another but if it was easy you would be on 1-10 mil subs so do not try and say well do this do that its not as easy also you say "oh I make a lets play 2x a week" I'm no expert but I produce next to all 5-7 videos a week i'm just saying put all your time into it if you think I lie than have a look i have nothing to hide and if i could be bothered with the rendering i would try and do 2x every day at the same quality.

No, I got your point and you seem to be missing mine.

Time for a reality check as you seem to lack the interest in how the corporate world really works.

Charity is where someone helps every weak and small they can find. This is called being selfless and it is what you describe and this is why I said "charity".
They are trying to find a small select number of weak and small that'll help both sides grow later on. This is called "being selfish" and it is not charity. Get my drift?

Those rules are not broken. Those are set to help them and not you, me or anyone else.
If you were a 12+ million sub channel, would you help every single channel you could find, or would you help just a few you deem good?

And why would a 1500+ sub channel with machinima partnership need this shoutout? They are anything but small and they're already networked.

DayZ not an exciting game? I think 1,000,000+ people would disagree with you there. Don't want to argue with you, or make crappy comments about your channel/ interests in games because its pretty childish and low. But your participation rules are all wrong imo.

I'm not saying it's not an exciting game. I'm saying your video is not exciting, lack the action part truly. And sorry if the participation rules are all wrong. Go to other top youtber channel's shout-out contests... oh wait

  • Bundy, I wanted to appeal my rejection. (And although I would like to, I don't think you should.) Either way just want to share something.

I don't like speaking about my personal life in my videos. (You don't have to actually watch a video of mine, but if you were to you'd see that I avoid talking about myself). But basically, until right now, I've been in Asia for the Summer. I don't want to give any specifics, but the last few months of uploads were pre-recorded that I had to schedule to upload, or keep on my external hard drive and upload using Internet Cafe internet. (Which are surprisingly popular even in poorer areas.)

I am home now in America.

But after understanding the admin rules, I don't expect you to appeal it and that's fine. My situation may be bad luck with timing, and although I might have the intentions for higher upload frequency, it's something I don't have at the moment.
I'm getting better, but so are you.

I understand, you're not the first but if we'd let anyone do that, it would be a disaster. I know it's a bit annoying, but understand that this is how it goes. (also double account is against the rules). But if u keep doing it, try again in the contest in the future.

  • @Bundy, I know you must be getting alot of complaints and stuff, but you have rejected my submissions a couple times now and for no reason in my eyes. I have 100 subs, I upload frequently (2 vids today btw) and I have been rejected because I have submitted too many times. I only re submitted because apparently I didnt have 100 subs, but Im not stupid I wouldnt have submitted if I didnt have 100, Its not my fault your system wasnt working correctly, it said I have 97, I have 101 subs now as we speak, plz, if you can, re consider my submission. I know the job must be tough, but I think its a bit unfair on people like me who got rejected for something stupid like this
  • I am on the mods side here... imagine if there was no subscription requirement. He has 12mil+ subs, say a quarter of them try to get a channel going. That would mean 3 million people that no, not all would enter the contest, but there needs to be a limit as to who can join and who can't. I can't join since my channel is only a few days old, I'm sad I can't enter but I respect the rules and understand why they are there.

Remember guys, PewDie didn't start his channel to become big, it was all for fun! If trying to make your channel big is causing so much conflict inside you emotionally, then it might not be for you. Don't hate on the mods for doing what they need to do guys, they are working hard to make the contest fair.

  • I just realized how pathetic this is, Have some pride and trust in what your doing, Guys come on this is embarrassing... it's just a shoutout, isn't it about enjoying making videos?
i mean stop it really, with all that i got rejected and stuff, be proud of what you have now, and what your foing, heck i got 61 subs and am quite happy with them, and i think they'll grow larger intime, i don't need no shoutout to raise my channel up, i can do it on my own,and Work hard raise my channel on my own. i

i hope you guys got the point of this and i truly hope that it helped you wake up.

Yeah, I get why you guys have to do what you have to do.
Sorry about the double account. I would say an excuse, but it would be an... excuse.

I quote...ahem, "You're talking about a gaming channel. And you're playing DayZ. A not so exciting game , and even that is only 1video/week."

Actually you did say Dayz was not an exciting game. Now you're saying my videos are not exciting, which I suppose is fair enough. You do say, "video," I do have videos...plural.... 55 to be exact, not all intended to be exciting. I'm trying to be different, and provide people who like Dayz (Not you obviously) with something other than, "INSANE PVP ACTION KILL KILL KILL" I like to make videos, I like editing and like to be different.

Maybe someday... I can be like you, and have a good job...sifting through peoples YouTube channels all night on a massive power trip...oh wait.

    See...I can be spiteful too.
  • Kinda just going along with what everybody is saying, but my channel doesn't meet 1 requirement, which is 100 subs. I know why not many people sub to me, and it's because I'm a brony, and they think that the only thing i do is mlp related when in fact I do gameplays of some rather violent games like Blacklight. I daresay Blacklight is more violent than CoD, simply because peoples heads don't explode when you headshot them in CoD. Regardless, my content isn't brony based, and yet I have to deal with the stereotypes of brony channels slowing me down. Before anybody says ANYTHING, I will NOT completely exclude myself being a brony from my content, because it's a part of who I am, and while i try to keep that kind of stuff out of my videos, and not make it the prime subject, it's just something that's there.
  • Good evening,
I would like to announce that any complaints about unjust deletion of channels should be directed to me, either via email or PM. Please take some stress away from our team and just talk to me instead.
Second, the rules were clearly stated and have to be followed. There is no discussion if it's unfair or not. Felix has 11 million subscribers and is willing to publicize relatively small channels to the broad public, so any rules are fair, as you won't get this chance often and he is very generous. Furthermore all taken action by my/our team are considered to be right until they're proven wrong, which you can do by messaging me.
