GIRLS? Help me get one of you!

  • First, don't be desperate. You have to be happy as a single person first and foremost - or you will end up being clingy/obsessed and things might turn sour.

    Then... look for someone in places which are linked to yourself and your interests. A good example would be a forum like this one here, where you might meet another gamer girl or something. But it can happen anywhere. If you like a particular sport, you might meet someone at a sports club, if you like to dance you might meet someone at a dance school, etc. If you have some hobby/interests in common, it will be easier to strike up a conversation and do something together as you learn to know each other.

    But mostly, 'love' will find you when you aren't looking. I've seen so many friends try and try again to hook up with people almost desperately. And then they found love when they decided to be themselves and live their life without searching so hard.

    I'm not sure how helpful I'm being. I'm drawing from my experience. And like a few people here, I met my girlfriend online.
    I met her three years ago on a DeviantArt club. We both loved to draw and create characters. We were both into anime. We were both into video games. We had a lot of other things in common. I wasn't even looking for someone to date, really, but just talking everyday like that... we just ended up realizing we liked each other. She confessed and I was happy as hell XD I had been too shy to ask her out myself. She drove up to my flat some time later for a weekend and it just confirmed what we felt. That was 3 years ago... today, actually! XD

  • I understand the whole friendzone thing, hell I'm a girl, although sometimes, we just like to have some guy friends because girls are too freaking hormonal, you get what I mean?
    I like being friends with guys over girls, and from what I know with my personality, a lot of guys like it and I'm no slut, I'm just really good at being friends with almost anyone.
    I like to hold hands with my guy friends as we walk down the hall, which is like an escort service which I find really sweet, but they all know it's more of a friend relationship that an actual relationship. Some of them even have girlfriends and they still hold my hand. XD

    Anyways, what I'm trying to say is, sometimes, we just want some guy friends and sure we might flirt with you in some ways that seem like we're actually hitting on you, but we're just trying to get on your good side sometimes.

    Men do not like it that much, Maybe if he doesnt actually love the girl that friendzones him..Then perhaps he would like it as its just a friend.

    But if he actually loves someone and that girl starts acting like you are just a friend..That feels shitty
    No offence, but you can't really see through what we like and dont like.. :x



    Oh and being hugged/holding hands with a girl that friendzoned you does me as much as a guy holding hands/hugging me (Luckily men dont hug/hold hands with me xD)
    I can't care about that any more then that.


    If you want to be friends you don't start flirting either, If you want to be on our good side you don't seduce us into thinking you are hitting on us. :x

    This is actually the thing that confuses most of boys in my area that girls treat them friendly in a flirty way.
    This makes the boy confused and don't really know what to do.

  • ^ My brother met his girlfriend on a gaming forum and they've been together for a bit longer than three years now. She's a gamer and a movie fan, a DnD player, etc. You can find any type of girl anywhere as long as you hang out in the proper places.

    If you want a girl who likes to drink and party, go to a bar. If you want a quiet girl who likes to read, go to a library. If you want a gamer girl, hang out on gaming forums and at gaming conventions. Eventually you'll meet the right person for you...

    Just be yourself, trying to change so someone will like isn't good. And no, you guys are bit closed-minded. Yes, most girls do friendzone nice guys. But it doesn't mean it's the end, right? Somehow, somewhere, someday, they will realize how important you are. Except if she's a bitch, you'll just make your life miserable.

    Lara Croft and Princess Leia in slave costume is overused. I'm gonna cosplay Erza Scarlet (aka Titania) from the anime Fairy Tail at comi con next year. That's something that isn't cosplayed that much!

    But you got a point Sohym. If you go to a library you will find books, you will also find people who like books. Most of the time. But going on an international forum expecting to find your soulmate is a long shot.. And tbh, if you're not willing to move for her/him. Don't expect him/her to move to you. The distance is pretty much going to kill the relationship anyways. Unless you're lucky and find someone in the same city as you live in..

  • Well, being heartbroken sucks (I am a guy obviously), but imo you have to move on.

    You can find a girl in the randomest places, that's one thing I learned not so long ago. Looking for someone usually doesn't work well, it just happens - go on and live your life, do what you like to do and you will eventually find a girl that shares your interests. I know it's hard to believe, but it's true after all.
    About friendzoning: Sure, it hurts. But good relationships start with a good friendship sometimes - You never know about the future. You have to decide on what to do for yourself though, there are many factors influencing these decision.
    I kinda have to agree on this flirty way confusing guys sometimes, it can really mindfuck you. Sometimes it helps to just look at the facts to decide on what to do, even though that's a really difficult task. If you are in a good friendship with the girl you like, sometimes it just helps to be happy with what you have, besides confusing this flirty way gives you little hopes at least (That might lead to even more pain when those hopes get destroyed though, i'ts a complex topic). I would always suggest to take your chance if you think that the girl may like you - a no can hurt, but at least you're not in the dark anymore and can decide if you'd like to stop wasting time or do whatever you want.

    So, I can't really give any helpful tips. I just wrote down what I think of this whole stuff at the moment, I wouldn't call me experienced or anything though, I also might be influenced by things going on in my life. It's a really complex and personal topic.

    Thats simply superficial love.
    If a girl loves you for your looks only and way of living (bad ways) it can be destructive.

    And also, Kerix is right.
    Even if someone breaks your heart - dont be depressed about it. You'll most likely face rejection again so step up and be confident. It may sound hard after a breakup/friendzonification but its totally worth it. A chance might pop up from nowhere when you might be depressed and you'll end up not takng it/ignoring it due not being aware.

    No way! I hate the people you just discribed and honestly I wouldn't even wanna be friends with those people.
    Being a smoker doesn't matter for friendship/love, if you play rugby, idk about that but I don't think they are all steriotypes right?
