And it's a fucking crime when nobody stands up for others. Maybe queers have better empathy than most human beings, because the community I'm a part of, and all the other queer communities I've been a part of, have steadfastedly avoided making jokes that put others down, and on the rare occasion someone does make a senseless joke, they apologise, or someone stands up for the people being joked about. I would hope communites outside mine practice the same empathy for others worthy of respect.
I think you are misunderstanding something here buddy... No one is directing any of these jokes against actual people!
its harmless words, they can't hurt you.
Call a gay guy you aren't close to a faggot to his face.
Is that what Pewdiepie is doing in any shape, way, or form? He's making a joke, not calling somebody a faggot. Think about what you're saying before you try to argue a point.

Have you ever seen someone trip? What did you do when you saw that person trip? Laugh? Yeah, that's the most common human reaction to any kind of non-serious suffering.
And by the way you said "queer", I'm guessing you're either incredibly dense or just trolling us all.

    I'll give you a chance to prove yourself though;
If you can make one funny joke, ONE funny joke right now, right here, that involves NO feelings from anybody or anything being hurt, I will stop talking.
I do not laugh when someone trips, fuckhead, I am worried, and I try to help them up and ask them if they are okay, because I am a human being. And queer is how queer people describe other queer people, at least in my communities, I am queer, my friends are queer, we're all queer. It's a reclaimed word among LGBTIQ communities.

That wouldn't be a joke that would be an outright insult to someone theres a line between insulting random people on the street and make a quality joke about horrible events, i dont joke about YOU in particular being raped i said it before and ill gladly say it again "No one is directing any of these jokes against actual people!"

You know what? You're right. I was wrong. Pewdiepie isn't calling someone a faggot to their face. He's yelling faggot in a crowded hall and then hiding behind his friends.

"Queer" is a commonly known derogatory word for homosexuals, and even if you are one, it doesn't make it right. Other homosexuals could be offended too. And if helping them up and laughing makes you a human being, what does that make everyone else considering it's a NATURAL human reaction to laugh?
You don't sound very compassionate towards everyone, especially "fuckheads". Get off your high horse.

Hardly. He's making jokes, jokes that are not directed at anybody. There's a huge difference between what you think he's doing and what he's actually doing.

I make racist jokes on a daily basis.
I livestream and make rape jokes when playing a horror game.
I make jokes about Obama being in love with Osama.

Does anyone care except for you? Not even one tiny bit.

I fucking care now, that you've told me you do it, idiot. I don't hate things that are popular, I hate things that outrage me or that are awful, and you sound like both.

    Hes not hiding behind anyone.
PewDiePie has like 2.3mil subs im sure alot of them are gays
you would think that if anyone shared your viewpoint then there would be a shitstorm on every video hes ever made in existance.
Also ive never heard Pewdie actually yell faggot but i wouldn't mind if he did, you sound like you are very oversensitive, gain a sense of humor, get of your high horse, grow a pair and enjoy life as it is.
I have a friend with a big nose like abnormally large i call him names for that all the time and he calls me fat all the time which i indeed am we are what you could call best friends.

I think I implied that only you care anyway.

Let me tell you a story:
2 guys went down to a bar and the barman was in shock.
"MR.PRESIDENT WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE!?"
Obama replied, "Oh just spending my one year anniversary of being engaged with Osama here!"
Osama chuckled, "Yes my love! Can't thank you enough for sending those nosy bastards to Libya!"

    The end.

It has been a reclaimed word in every community that I have been a part of, although if someone new to the community was offended by it's use, myself, and any others who used it around them unknowingly would do our best to explain ourselves and make reparations.

Something doesn't have to be directed at somebody for it to be hurtful to many people.

All I have to say is, no matter how many times I reexplain the same thing, I don't think you'll get it. So the simplest thing to do is just move on and not watch Pewdiepie anymore. If you don't like him, and you disagree with him, and his jokes hurt you, stop watching him and move on. All you're doing is trying to redirect your anger about past experiences onto other people, attempting to make them take blame. I highly recommend seeing a therapist, but do what you need to do I guess.
  • Oh. >.<" My bad.
Sorry about that. ^^; I read the usernames and then guess.

You people also need to be respectful of this. Aka GOGETAH and Peanut.

    Well.
I've had my fair share of things that are unmistakeably horrible happen to myself, there have been incidents in my life, where a guy or even an older man tried to do things to me that I didn't want them to do to me.
I had a close call, once, where if another friend of mine hadn't seen what was going to happen, I would have been raped. I ran for my life that day, away from him, and away from everything else that had to do with that life.
Still, I rarely trust any guys that are alone with me, and the only exception I've been able to make since then, was my boyfriend currently, Heiko[also known as Mkerix].

Originally, I didn't think that the rape jokes were quite funny, although, after time, I began to understand that it's something someone says when they're freaked out or even just being a major dumbass[and in Pewdie's case it was both]. Sometimes, you have to forgive these things that people do that make others laugh, because they don't think about it, and even if they don't think about it, they haven't experienced something like you and I have, and even a few other members.

I'm sorry if it isn't funny for you, but sometimes, jokes aren't funny to everyone. I hate certain comedians for their lingo, but others I laugh at the things that they say. It's a part of life, but, as it normally does; the world will move on.

    [c:]
Just because they don't think about it doesn't mean they should be left alone, it means they should be /made/ to think about it, so that they do not carelessly hurt others. Ignorance is never a defense.
  • Ignorance is a horrible defense at that. The quote "Ignorance is bliss" isn't exactly in my terms bliss, more so ignorance is a killer.
People although don't normally think about what they say, and if they do it's quite rare. Whenever I post, I tend to think about things before I post them, and if I do post them and then I think about it again later, I apologize like crazy about it.

Many people aren't as smart enough to think about it before they do something, and in Pewdie's case, whenever he does something like this, he receives likes, favorites and even comments about how funny it was. Thus reinforcing that it is a good thing. Now, if you reversed that to making it all zero likes, and favorites and good comments, and possibly adding about 1 million dislikes onto a few videos he made, that would reinforce that he would be doing something wrong and he would do something different until there was a positive response.
It's somewhat like Skinner said, a famous psychologist, when doing something right, a reward is given, when doing something wrong, there is no reward and then you try again to receive that reward.

But once again, not all people can enjoy a cruel sense of humor.
And as someone above said, when you want to get over something, you laugh about it sometimes. I find that very true as well, like...When my cat died[he lived with us since I was really young], we all tried to laugh about something that happened when he was only a kitten. My family and I felt better after laughing about it, so, I guess you could see it that way.

It's good that I've found someone on this forum I can respect.

Honestly, if he just stopped the rape stuff and gave a formal apology, a lot of his criticisms would cease. I mean, apart from his horrible shrill voice and gimmicky shit, the third big one is the rape shit, and if he just wizened up and recognized that he was not only insulting direct victims, but those affected in the social networks of victims as well as, you know, decent human beings with a basic appreciation of rape and how it affects people, people would lay off him and recognize that he's trying to make a change for the better.
