  • Same deal here.... I've tried a couple times to post after reading the rules to no avail, as I literally spent like half an hour once writing out a detailed post to share with the community only to not have it accepted I just gave up.

  • I peronally prefer gameplay driver Let's Plays. Especially with a sandbox game like Saint's Row where you have so much freedom. It makes for more original content from my perspective. I rarely watch story driven Let's Plays and I stay away from doing them myself, because I just blather on over top of the cutscenes. All my personal opinion though, I know a lot of people definitely enjoy the story.

Currently really enjoying Attack on Titan! It's got potential to be a favorite if it keeps up the momentum! FullMetal Alchemist : Brotherhood may be my favorite. I like One Piece a lot, but it's slow sometimes. Special mention to like.... 15 others

  • I've gotta give this one to Dante. Special mention to Solid Snake.

youtube.com/user/jmaxlinglus Hey Bros! I'm Max and I have a gaming channel called GameFace! The channel consists of myself, my girlfriend Lindsey, and my good friends Ryan, and Mack (+guests)! We focus on the coach gaming dynamic: getting your friends together in the same room and having a blast playing games together! We want to share that feeling with our viewers through Group Let's Plays, Let's Races, and competitive gaming! I try to put a good deal of editing work into the videos, and I put …

  • Small absolutely does not mean bad quality. Considering how many people are creating content on YouTube (especially Let's Plays), so many quality channels get lost in the mix. Having said that, spamming in the comments section of a popular YouTuber is absolutely frowned upon, and just about one of the worst things you can do to your own channel. The key to getting your channel noticed is to take the time to network with people with similar interests. Join forums such as this one and actually con…

  • A quality microphone is one of the most important things on your checklist for a Let's Play channel people will want to watch. I know you said to shut my mouth about the Blue Snowball.... but it's a really good quality for such a low price. I payed no more than $60 bucks for mine (not much more than your budget), and you likely will not need to upgrade down the road if you take this route. Ask most anyone who enjoy's watching Let's Plays, and they will tell you that bad mic quality means that th…

  • We appear to have a lot in common, Alice! Same age, LP channels, good taste in video games! I hit the ol' subscribe button to see more! I tried posting a thread for my channel, but I must need to contribute to the forum more.... as it appears to have gotten rejected. Oh wells, thanks for checking out my channel earlier

  • I'm not 100% sure, but my best guess would be Conker's Bad Fur Day. I got it when it released in 2001.... I guess I would have been, 11? Man I loved that game.... still play it.

  • Sounds like a cool idea! I will keep my eye our for your updates - I like the Name+logo as well!

  • The Fraps Mic button is unchecked, but it is still picking up the Skype call in bad quality. During the recording, there is no issue with the sound. everyone sounds great! Im using a program called call graph to record the call, and it sounds great on there, but the call is also on fraps and sounds lousy. Audacity is picking up the in game sound, which I don't want it to do. All our Mic's are good quality. I'm personally using a Blue Snowball. ---I think I found a resolution. There's a program c…

I agree that subtitles is the way to go. Having a non-optional video segment in the corner would be distracting for those of us who are incapable of using it. Subtitles are much easier for everyone to take advantage of and won't isolate your viewers. Also, it should be a lot easier.

  • Hey all! I'm looking for some advice regarding a multiplayer game series I tried to start last night that didn't go so well. We were playing Minecraft and using Skype to record our commentary. Problem is the quality was pretty lousy, Echoes, cutting in and out, all that good stuff. I would have preferred to record the skype call on a separate layer, but I couldn't find a way to get Fraps to only record the in game audio. Does anyone know the best way to pull this off? I know PBG's Minecraft Hard…

As long as you're having fun and you know that someone out there is enjoying the videos your making, just keep pushing. With every video you record, edit and post... you will gain experience and content will improve. In time, we should find our audiences. As suggested, newer games can help tip the scales in your favor. Horror, FPS, and Minecraft seems to be the most common and popular videos. Of course, if you don't enjoy these types of games.... do not play them. The most important thing is pla…

The hardest boss fight I have encountered is without a doubt Ornstein and Smough from Dark Souls 696px-Ornstein_smough.jpg Some bosses that I remember plaguing my childhood and causing much controller rage? The hidden Culex boss in Super Mario RPG The final bit of Sonic The Hedgehog 2, with Metal Sonic, and Eggman.... all that crazyness Trying to catch Mewtwo without a Masterball, if you can call that a boss battle?

  • Nice channel man! I can really see that you're enjoying yourself based on the effort and quality of the videos congrats on your success so far! I hope that I can show off the same enthusiasm and effort for my videos, and gain a following as you have Thanks for sharing!

I'm not sure how old you are, but you and your girlfriend sounds a lot like me and my girlfriend. We are both huge gaming/animation geeks, and I noticed that she had some kickass Pokemon toys when I first met her, so I asked her out. We dated in grade 6 and ultimately started to drift away from each other since we were so shy and awkward. In high school, we dated again and are still together almost 9 years later. My thoughts? Well.... the shy awkwardness is tough to get past, but ultimately it's…

Not a fan of generic rap. Some of the mainstream stuff on the radio is pretty unbearable too. I just like music that sounds good......
