    • Minecraft Demo

Hello, and welcome to the last message you will EVER read.

Oh sorry, wrong forum... Anyway, I know Minecraft's a really popular game, and everyone's like "YOU GOTTA PLAY IT." So I tried out the demo and I was just thrown into a big world with no clue as to what to do from there. The only form of guide the game gave me was to follow the achievements. Is this all solo gameplay is? I've seen videos online of the game and usually its with other people, so of course that makes it more fun. But as a solo player, what exactly do you want to do? o_O I wandered around, crafted a few things, and then night came and I was attacked by 10 different kinds of monsters, zombies, spiders, creepers and some other junk! And then I died. At that point I was like "What's the fun in this game o_O" and stopped. The idea of it seems interesting but I don't have a lot/any PC gaming friends so if that's all single player has to offer then I don't see the point.

Basically, I just wanna know what makes the game fun and what I did wrong XD. I couldn't figure anything out. I had to google how to make sticks because the game didn't tell me how, only that I needed some.

    • Both Singleplayer & Multiplayer has A LOT to offer.

The point in Survival is to build a shelter to survive the night. Mine ores. Make weapons & armor. Fight monsters. Level up. Enchant you tools & weapons.

In Creative mode you can do pretty much ANYTHING you want. The limit is set by your own imagination. You can build big cities with lots of cool stuff. You could build a big arena and let Iron Golems fight other monsters.

Minecraft is a great game once you give it a chance. ;)

    • First, learn the crafting/smelting. Then, build yourself a shelter, start mining for obsidian, gain diamonds, emeralds, search for NPC Villages, trade with NPCs, spawn Iron Golems or Snow Golems that will protect your shelter, make monster traps, make a portal and go to the nether, find a stronghold, fight with the blazes for blaze rods, craft eye of enders, search for an underground stronghold in the overworld, go to The End, fight with the enderdragon and win the game. Then, if you're bored, install some mods; The Aether is one that adds a new world you'll surely enjoy. ^^
    • A lot of the fun in minecraft is being set into a whole new world, without any real goal in mind but to survive. Not knowing how to do things is half of the fun, as there is always something new to learn. But, if you're like me and don't want to learn it all by yourself, here is a guide to get you started and give you some tips: minecraftwiki.net
Also, you can't really base a game off of just the demo, because in Minecraft, you can have the same world for months to years, and turn it into your own world, where you are the leader, not the survivor.
When in doubt, hide it out.
    • I think I'll give it another go, maybe just buy the game. It seems way more interesting after reading about it now. When I went to play the demo I had no clue what kind of game it really was. All I knew was people built stuff XD. But now seeing the survival and adventure aspect, it makes a lot more sense.

Plus it seems like a lot of you Bros play it so... MULTIPLAYER FTW.
