If i would be able to choose now, i'd be choosing Win XP.

If you are going to play the newest games you should use Win 7, because of DirectX 10/11.

I'm using it since a few years and i've no problems with mouse lag or V-Sync

Just anything but Vista okay? Windows 7 supports more though as far as graphics and processing speeds and games go.

I prefer Windows 7. Windows XP is not that bad either. As long as you don't choose Vista you'll be fine

Windows 7, The advantages software wise are exponential, especially in the gaming category,

If its new games, Win 7 - Old games, Xp

NVidia GTX 480 1.5GB (OC)
Asus P- Something V Gen 3 Black Edition MOBO
8GB GSkill Ram
800Watt PSU

Running this on anything less than DX10 is a disgrace

So if you've spent good money dont cheap out with an old OS

Also these "ISSUES" you've heard of aren't Issues....

They are just problems because the majority aren't use to Win 7 and how to turn off most of those stupid features,
but its exactly the same as XP

PLUS

All the games deal with Vsync and Mouse Input, not the PC anyway, the games going to be the one causing the problem to start with,

NOT

Windows 7, assuming you've got your Win 7 setup how you want it; e.g. NO Mouse Smooth, No Vsync, No FXAA etc. etc.

Not to mention the fact that you still have different GPUS and stuff to think about, Issues aren't just OS based, IN THE SLIGHTEST

I would say Windows 7 period, you never know what newer software you may want to use in the future.

Plus there's always "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" mode... which might loosely bridge it if you need the program to run like XP. However, XP does not have a "Run this program in compatibility mode for: Windows 7"

Windows XP = Old games
Windows 7 = Today's games.

Just do what everyone else is saying, Windows 7 is the way forward at the moment..

I would say go with Windows 7

No need for XP now, XP was superior over Vista until Win 7 came out.
