Ace of Spades
Basic Information
Ace of Spades is a shooter that is in summary a combination of Team Fortress 2 and Minecraft. It is exclusively multiplayer - there's no campaign or storyline. The idea of Ace of Spades was to provide a simple, slow paced, strategic FPS rather than the run-and-gun Call of Duty sort of game. All the while it provides great fun when you're bored or just want to play a game!
You have two pieces of equipment and two weapons in your inventory, which is accessible by using the wheel on your mouse. You have a shovel (commonly known as a spade, hence the name "Ace of Spades"), 50 blocks, a primary weapon, and three grenades. You have three primary weapons to choose from - a rifle, SMG, and a shotgun. The rifle and SMG are the most commonly used weapons. The shotgun doesn't generally prove effective.
The best part about it is it's free, and runs virtually on any computer, regardless of the specs. So Ace of Spades is available for all game players - even my 5 year old laptop can handle it! The least simple part about it is joining a server. To join a server, you must download the game itself first, then go to the "Play" page and click on a server's name, which will be highlighted in red.
