    • YouTube study.

Hello bros. I`m gamerlaur. I have this gaming YouTube channel with a variety of games, mostly horror games.

Since this is such a wonderful community in most of the cases, I thought I would start a small study to elighten me on the YouTube matter of subscribing to someone on your free will. This will probably be a bit TL;DR but if you decide to help with your opinion this could possibly help alot of people.

SO WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?
Here is the think, I want to better understand what are the key factors people ussually tend to judge by when visiting a channel. What are the first thing you look for, does the channel looks cool? Is it organized, does it feel special? What tells you if it`s worth subscribing to that channel or not. Of course video quallity, genre of the channel and personality play an important role, but you first have to also get enough motivation to even watch one of his/her videos.

I want everyone that was interested enough to read until this point, to write, as long or as short as they feel, how do they judge a channel of and what makes them subscribe. Do you guys subscribe people with a serious number of subscribers(1k plus for example), do you subscribe those with partnership because it means they must be good? Or you just subscribe anyone that you like watching and you enjoy?

Let me tell you how I judge a channel by and what makes me subscribe:

For me, subscribing at a channel is something quite an important decision. But I usually send the favour back when it comes to people who subscribed me and I`m very likely to help others with a box4box channel featuring, I like to help. Subscribing to someone because I seriously like his videos requires some time.

I tend to test the waters first, I see a friend or two constantly liking some video of PewDiePie. Day 1 is like: "Hmm...OK." , Day 2 and 3: "They must be liking that PewDiePie guy!" . Day 4: "I think I should take a look at one of his videos, there must be a reason for my friends to keep liking his stuff." For a week: "Watching his videos...I kinda like this PewDiePie guys, he`s fun and makes me laugh. I think I should watch some more." One day after: "Oh, fuck this. This guy has a cool community, he`s funny, plays cool games, makes me laugh and jump of my seat scared being, ~has sex with the subscribe button~"

That is actually how it really happened in my case with PewDiePie. So what can we learn from this? Subscribing really defines how appreciated/popular/loved/good you are, and people are very picky about that, no one wants a spammed sub-box. We, or atleast I, feel the need to evaluate first, is this guy constat? Did it happened for me to watch one of his, luckly, good videos? Or, this guy is good, but not good enough, tho he has some talents, I like his voice/accent. Maybe I should subscribe to him, it looks like he puts hard work in his videos, he deserves it.

Now, it`s your turn. What makes you subscribe to a channel, is it purely the talent or you pay good attention to how is his channel managed? :?:
    • i don't really watch lets plays i didn't even know what one was until i watched pewdie and how i got there was an accidental click and after watching one video of his i subscribed figuring if i didn't like him later id unsubscribe even if i thought he was hilarious now

what gets me to subscribe is if they've got funny vids (pewdiepie
      8) ), they make vids for music i like and notheing else (like im subscribed to rareflorence who only uploads rare florence and the machine songs :) ), or they just catch my attention (computernerd01 [i havent watched him in a long time though  ])
      . ! GRRRROAR! mew!
i'm a half ninja, half dinosoar, half kitten that loves music
