Ok. You have a standard TV so you have 2 options. Either buy Dazzle DVC 100 (I have it and it works pretty well. Only about $50 I believe) or Roxio Game Capture (Around $70-$100 but much better than Dazzle).
With the Dazzle, you will need:
If you have 1 RCA cable, here's how you would set it up:
Then you should be good to go. The dazzle should come with the program needed to record gameplay, if not, you will need to obtain Pinnacle Studio. And if you want to live stream, you will need a program called VAC and a streaming program, such as Adobe Flash Media Live Encoder or Xsplit. I won't go into detail how to set that up unless you want me to.
For the Roxio Game Capture, it works the same way pretty much, but all you need is 1 RCA double male cable, and 1 double female adapter piece. Hook up ALL the console cables to the input end of the Roxio, you'll notice only one not plugged in is the video. You will then plug in the RCA cable to the output end of the Roxio, and again, video will be only one not plugged in. You'll then plug the RCA to the TV, and take the adapter piece and plug both the video male ends into it. Run the USB cable from the Roxio to your computer/laptop and you're done.
With the Dazzle, you will need:
- 1 or 2 RCA Cables with both Audio an Video (double male ends)
- If you have 1 double male end RCA cable, you will need 3 male to female (make sure the male is the single end) splitters.
- If you have 2 RCA Cables, you will need 3 double female splitters.
If you have 1 RCA cable, here's how you would set it up:
- Plug the RCA cable into your TV, and plug the other end of the cable into one of the female ends of each splitter
- Plug your console A/V cable into the open ports of the splitters, making sure to keep them matched (yellow with yellow, white with white, red with red)
- Plug the male end of the splitters into the dazzle, again, keeping everything matched.
- Plug the USB cord of the dazzle into your computer/laptop
