slenderman's shadow (Sanatorium)

The forums have been archived. Please read this thread for more information.

    • Quite a nice surprise to come along these forums and find your game here already suggested :D

@Skarjay, my friend also had this issue (not sure why it happens, something to do with the launcher). You should have 3 options to choose from - one of them allows you to extract the files to a location (can't remember exactly which one) but try them all and one will work for you.

V1.1 will be released tomorrow. The texture quality has been high improved, file size reduced, some bugs fixed, and I'll see if I can find a better packer :).
    • That's odd - try using both WASD and the arrow keys. Are you stuck at the very beginning of the level? When you use the movement keys does your camera move at all?

Also, try downloading v1.1 (available now), it addresses a lot of issues and the file size is now under 100mb.

      Change log:
      --Increased texture quality
--Changed packer as some people were having issues with passwords etc.
--Decrease file size and memory consumption
      --Decreased decryption time
      --Enemy AI tweaked
      --Page locations shifted
      --Bug fixes
    • Intense

      +2

Slenderman's Shadow is wayyyy more intense than Slender. The map makes you wanna look in every corner and look down every side passage, unlike in Slender, where you could resolutely keep your eyes straight ahead. Also in Sanatorium, you absolutely have to turn tight corners. In Slender, you could walk in a straight line for a minute and if you had to turn, you could do so gradually. At least the page locations never change, else I'm sure all users would be screwed. But the map is so damn confusing, you must pay attention to the details or you're gonna get lost. And the elevator doors you spawn in front of are duplicated further into the map, by the lion statue, which gets confusing on it's own.

      Slender vs. Slenderman's Shadow

Originality: Slender was the first actual Slenderman game out there. Slenderman's Shadow is a copy-and-paste with more maps and an advanced AI. Advantage: Slender
Horror factor: Slender was terrifying in the fact that the entire map is pitch black and brings back the whole Amnesia experience:Balance time in the light and the dark.Slendy pops up out of nowhere all the time in the forest, which will flip gamers right out. Slenderman's Shadow(Sanatorium, at least) is really well-lit and flashlight is only necessary for looking in corners. Not to mention the fact that Slendy is always there, and you see him frequently, which adds to the feeling of uneasiness. Advantage: Slenderman's Shadow
Map(s): Slender only has the one map(Forest), Slenderman's Shadow has atm just Sanatorium, but Pyramid is coming out next month with 3 others to come. Advantage: Slenderman's Shadow
Gameplay:Basic movement for both games, with a sprint that drains your maximum stamina, and flashlight to illuminate the area. In Slender, the flashlight will reveal your location to Slendy, but without it on, you can't see anything. Zoom is next to useless in either game. Advantage: Slender, but just barely, because of the flashlight illumination.
Bonus(es): Slender has Daylight Mode for those who have managed to collect all 8 pages. It's the same experience, just making the flashlight obsolete but Slendy can get you anywhere. $20 Mode and MH Mode are also unlockable by completing Daylight Mode. $20 will play the song Gimme 20 Dollars by Ron Browz in place of the static when Slenderman is near or when he catches you. MH Mode(based on the Marble Hornets online series) replaces your view with that of a video camera(makes it uber cool for recording LP's). Slenderman's Shadow has what seems to be a survival mode at the end of sanatorium if you collect all 8. It is yet to be known if that's only for sanatorium or the whole game. Advantage: Slenderman's Shadow
You're making me angry. You wouldn't like me when I'm angry. Oh, that did it. I'M AN ANGRY ELF.
