While I do consider myself part of the BroArmy, I have to admit it depresses me a little that some of our ranks seem to throw ourselves into these comments wars with the fans of other Let's Play frontliners; one of whom, of course, is Toby Turner. I don't know how many on the forum engage in that- by which I mean specifically marching over to Toby's videos to spread anarchy- but as anyone who say my Flame War video might guess, it just makes my heart sad. D: So I thought I'd include my thoughts on the similarities, and differences, between these two YouTube celebrities.

Please keep in mind that I'm treating this matter as respectfully as possible; I imagine there'll at least be a few people who Dislike the video without watching it, on the basis of my not automatically supporting Pewdiepie one hundred percent and shooting Toby in the kneecaps... but I do ask that you at least watch it before judging me. :3

Aye. I don't watch many of Nova's videos- only so many minutes in the day and such- so decided to stick with what I knew in this video. xD I'm quite pleased that nobody's tried to put me on trial for treason yet, as I'd been juggling using this as a video subject for nearly a week now. Saying I forgot to use it in my flaming video is a bit of a lie; more like the video was a rant, and I didn't want to drag wrath on my head by ranting about Pewdie and Toby fans. Figured if I was going to approach this at all, it had to be quietly and respectfully... in large part because anyone who flipped their lid over it would look twice the fool.

Anyway, glad you guys agree. =D

And yeah, my commentary was more a passing potshot at it all; I turned off the comments section on the video specifically not to get embroiled in the whole discussion.

I have to disagree, Br00tal; while perhaps bringing it up won't do any good in the long run, I don't think it'll make things worse either. This isn't like stirring up a hornet's nest, because the entire point is that they're already plenty stirred up to begin with. The video is intended more to try and keep newcomers from letting themselves fall into this emotional trap we all know as flaming than to 'save' anyone already acting like one. I'd imagine more than a few people get caught in this trap, as I've occasionally seen people who were fans of both sides one month, and then frothing hate about Toby the next; there must be some moment of transition, something that leads them down that path. Maybe I can inject a little common sense in people before they let themselves get that far gone. Maybe not. Anyway, at the worst, I'd simply be inviting some hater wrath on my channel- the video is up to four dislikes, against seventeen likes- but it's a risk I'm willing to take, and this wouldn't be the first time I've poked at a troll in a video. Actually, I find it a lot of fun. <_< *cough*



The entire copying issue is ridiculous, anyway; case in point, my channel is commentary, not a gaming one, for example, but there is a parallel. I discussed an incident in one of my videos, a student who was denied her diploma for using the word Hell in her valedictorian speech; when I was finished and uploaded it, I poked around to see if there were any others who had done it. A couple had, such as the Archfiend, two days before me; by the logic of these critics, therefore, I was copying them because I spoke about the same subject. Just doesn't work like that. =P For one thing, if it did, then smaller gaming channels might well never get content to play that someone hasn't gotten to first.
