i need some advice for my brother. he is considering ordering a videogame from france since its out of stock here in the UK (mass effect 3 collectors edition). im just trying to make sure there are no problems or risks with this since its from another country. we know it will still be in english, and we know it will run on our machine. i also know that the amount in euros will automatically be translated into pounds when the order goes through the bank etc... it seems like theres nothing wrong so long as we give the right address. can anyone else think of any problem there might be with ordering a game from another country? its from amazon.fr so im not worried about whether i can trust them. i just didn't know if it would affect whether or not the DLC codes or stuff like that would actually work when we enter them. obviously the text on the back of the box will be french, but the game will be fine so i guess its ok. i checked the foreign versions of ME2's collector edition and in that the extras (graphic novel, art book etc...) were all still in english. what do you think? should we just go ahead and order it?

cheers guys. he's still making up his mind now because someone mentioned variations in game-censoring in different countries. were pretty leniant over here i think, partly because most of our own stuff is so rude in the first place lol. were not sure about other european countries like germany or france though, or even spain for that matter (who happen to be selling it cheaper!). if its anything like what i've heard about australia then i guess there would almost certainly be some censoring of the sex/violence. hmmm... time to get out the metaphorical scales and weigh up 'standard full throttle UK edition' versus 'tame and inoffensive collectors edition'. its a toughy!

@PurpelPumpkin well i originally put it in the help section, then i thought "hmmm, maybe this is more suitable/get more hits in gaming" and so thought i'd just have two since he was a bit pissed off about it all and i wanted to sort it quick. turns out he's still indecisive anyway so it didn't matter. i didn't realise how big this site had got, thought it might take days like it was when i very first signed up!

my brother decided just to get the standard edition and buy the dlc afterwards in the end. so much for all that kerfuffle! thanks anyway!
