Shoutbox = Shitbox

  • Well, I can only think of one EFFICIENT way to control the shoutbox...

    You know how almost every new person looks up to pewdie as their "god'?

    Well, we could always have him say in the next 'fwpdp' vid. for the people who use the shoutbox to basically calm down, and the mods will enforce disciplinary action towards anyone who breaks the rules, etc...

    But that just seems overkill for a little thing that could just simply be taken off the site, completely. :|
    Edit: Also, people might just think the mods are lazy for doing that.

    It's just...wrong. It's waaaay worse than the regular immature comments that are posted there on a daily basis. Some people just don't have limits anymore.

    It would seem kinda fine if something stupid like that was posted once, or twice ya' know..but not 11 times in under 3 minutes.

    Telling pewdie to do that will cause shitton of faggotry entering the shoutbox EVEN MORE. Even asking him to tell people to shut up, IT WONT WORK.

  • I agree with Br00tal, Pewdie making one video telling his fans not to be so immature in the shoutbox would be ridiculous at best.
    It wouldn't do anything and the immature ones would still pollute the air with insults and rape jokes.

    I think it's only fair that anyone who directly threatens another person should be warned and/or banned if a warning was already given.
    Obviously, this is how it's supposed to work. But, as far as stopping people from simply being immature, little brats? That's hard to do when
    you have hundreds of pewdie fans coming in and basically screaming quotes and being obnoxious, not providing anything of importance,
    insulting one another based on grammar, age, joinup date, etc. It's immature, yes. But, I don't really know what there is to do besides
    shutting the shoutbox down completely or finding another way to communicate with the people you actually care about. (skype?)

    I think it's just too hard to control and any solution to the problem is going to anger a lot of people.

  • Neat looking chatboxes are pretty much ones for JTV/TwitchTV. Although, they aren't really chatboxes. Just LIVE chats that people can still chat on.
    Theres also xat chatboxes that I remember awhile back when Shadowleggy was around.

    This is pretty much what we're discussing now Rachey, unless someone with php knowledge can improve the shoutbox we have now.

  • Last night from my part went out of control, People kept telling me to calm down when in reality I was nowhere near being angry or aggrivated or whatever.
    All the calm downs and one little comment from a person ironically got to me.
    I had a heated discussion with that person untill more and more bros started joining in, taking sides.
    I will take full blame on this one atlhough in reality, it's more complex then "Dovah just started a shitstorm again"
    I also do not appreciate people who weren't there from the start coming in as a white knigh acting as if they have the slightest cue of what is going on.
    I apologize for my actions resulting a massive shitstorm last night.

    Then again, I could ask myself, why do I even get upset over kids throwing comments here and there..

    What my point is, I'm done. I've always been a person who stands by what I believe in and I'm ready to take the consequences, although I'm not willing to risk my membership on this website when corrupt creatures lurk the woods.

    Oh and on topic, Profanity filter.
