    • Castlevania

Right, I'm just going to list off the games that I think Pewdie can baws his way through. XD

      Castlevania [NES/Wii Virtual Console]
Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse / Akumajou Densetsu [NES/Famicom/Wii Virtual Console]*
Super Castlevania IV [SNES/Wii Virtual Console]**
Castlevania: Bloodlines/The New Generation [Sega Genesis]***
Castlevania: Rondo of Blood [PC-Engine/Wii Virtual Console]****
      Castlevania: Dracula X/Vampire's Kiss [SNES]*****
      Castlevania: Chronicles [PSX]******
Castlevania: Symphony of The Night [PSX/Sega Saturn/PSP (As part of Dracula X Chronicles)]
Castlevania: Circle of The Moon [Gameboy Advance]
Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance [Gameboy Advance]
Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow [Gameboy Advance]
Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow [Nintendo DS]
Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin [Nintendo DS]
Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia [Nintendo DS]
      Castlevania: Dracula X Chronicles [PSP]*******
Castlevania: Lords of Shadow [X-BOX 360/PS3]********
Castlevania: Harmony of Despair [X-BOX 360/PS3]*********

*= Dracula's Curse features a few sprite replacements for some of the enemies and a boosted difficulty while AD had an extra soundchip put in to give the music a quality that nearly rivals the Sega Genesis. Both are nearly identical otherwise, But AD is the easier of the two.

**= Super Castlevania IV is a remake of the first game and is also considered one of the best Castlevania games ever. It introduces the feature of 8-way whipping to Castlevania, As well as swinging from platform to platform Indiana Jones style.

***= Bloodlines/The New Generation (Bloodlines for US, The New Generation for else where besides Japan.) features the ability to choose a character to play as from the start. You can be John Morris, The token Belmont character who can do only one of the things that Simon could before, Use the whip to swing from platform to platform. Or you can be Eric Lecarde, A spear wielding spaniard who can use said spear to jump higher.

****= Rondo of Blood is one of the other titles considered one of the best and is pretty popular, The first to introduce voice actors for a Castlevania game. It has multiple paths hidden within some of the default stages that lead to optional hidden stages/boss battles. The only worry is that Pewdie would have to go through the bother of carrying the key sub-weapon throughout a good bit of the levels to unlock the rooms holding damsels in distress... Yes, DAMSELS, As in more than one. The cool thing is that one of them is actually playable. Maria Renard, The game's token easy mode. :D She is basically a walking "sod off and die" button.

*****= Dracula X (Vampire's Kiss outside of US & Double X in Japan) is a semi-remake and a semi-sequel to Rondo of Blood, Which was never released outside of Japan until the Wii Virtual Console. It's been dubbed as "one of the toughest and most frustrating Castlevania action games" and lacks key features that helped made RoB the big title it is (Case in point, Richter is the only playable character here.). It may not be Rondo of Blood, But it's still worth trying at least.

******= Chronicles is also a remake of the first game. Or more accurately, A remake of the original japanese version. It features two modes of play, Classic & Arrange. Classic gives you the normal mode while Arrange allows you to configure the game to your liking, Case in point, Easy Difficulty with Infinite Time. Both modes also changes Simon's look to fit each mode. Classic Mode gives you Classic Simon while Arrange gives you the newer blood red hair and black armor Simon.

*******= Dracula X Chronicles is the proper remake of Rondo of Blood given 3d graphics, remade music, a harder final boss, and an unlockable game that's been re-dubbed and given new features; Castlevania: Symphony of The Night.

********= Lords of Shadow gets it's flack from Castlevania Fans for "only being a Castlevania game in name" & "Being a rip-off of other games". Sure, It borrows elements from God of War & Shadow of the Colossus, But it's still a decent game worth playing at least once for the experience. Some of the puzzles may cause Pewdie to chea-- I mean, Call upon his intuition. :P But it's still playable. Not to mention, The game is canonically an alternate universe... If anyone cares about that sort of thing.

*********= Harmony of Despair is the first multiplayer Castlevania ever, Let alone the first online multiplayer Castlevania. If any of these will get picked, I predict it'd be this one. :D And that's fine. I enjoy the game myself. The game features multiple playable characters from different CV games (Soma Cruz from Aria of Sorrow & Dawn of Sorrow, Alucard from Symphony of The Night, Jonathan Morris from Portrait of Ruin, Shanoa from Order of Ecclesia, & Charlotte Aulin who is also from Portrait of Ruin to start with. Julius Belmont & Yoko Belnades are available outright in the PS3 version and Downloadable for the X-Box version, Leaving Richter Belmont, Maria Renard, Simon Belmont, & Getsu Fuma (From a Japanese only game that's not a Castlevania game, But still pretty epic.) as Downloadable Content.) as well as bosses to match. The catch 20 is the leveling mechanic, Instead of leveling up based on experience points gained in battle, Most of the characters level up by leveling up their Sub-Weapons. The few that don't level up that way either have to collect souls (Soma), Pick up scrolls dropped by select enemies (Alucard), or absorb an enemies magical attack/ability (Charlotte). The boss drops can also be counted as a catch 20 due to the randomized treasure obtained from said boss chests. People have played this game ever since it's been released and STILL haven't gotten that obligatory weapon of awesomeness, Let alone the undergarments of Count Vla-- er, sorry. Poor attempt at a joke. lol

Anyway, That's the list of games I can list off as playable for Pewdie. ...Well, I do have one more. But that's only if it's really wanted.

      Castlevania II: Simon's Quest [NES]

Simon's Quest is the forefather of Castlevania's non-linear exploration style of gameplay. ...That and the soundtrack is about all it has going for it. The original game is riddled with fake hints, nonsensical dialogue, & all around cheapness. But, There is a ROMhack of the game that makes it actually bearable to play, Castlevania II: Simon's Quest Redaction. It fixes a lot of what makes the original so bad and turns it into something of a good game.

...Well, That was an effort. I await the impending rejection due to wall-of-text. lmao

    • Dracula's Curse is my childhood favorite. ...It's also one of the few Castlevanias I have yet to beat. D: Curse you, Dracula! Curse you and your sexy boss theme!

...I just realized I forgot Chronicles. ...Not Dracula X Chronicles, Castlevania Chronicles. The PSX Remake of the first game. It started the whole Blood Red Haired Simon Belmont shenanigans. ...Not saying that he isn't still sexy anyway. :P
