I'm using it myself, and I don't have any problems. I think Fraps is the best program for recording.

"best" program , depends on what you like. Fraps is notorious for being a CPU/GPU/Ramwhore and that is why I prefer his smaller brother , Bandicam

I just have the free version of fraps wich sucks a think a gonna buy it full but use fraps

Fraps is worth it, its the most reliable program to use, in my opinion

I use both Dxtory and FRAPS and I like Dxtory better since it doesn't affect performance as much and it records your voice as a separate track but the one thing I dislike about it is that you can't record your desktop with it like FRAPS. FRAPS is also way easier to use, where you don't have to setup that much. Dxtory requires a semi-advanced setup but thats nothing a guide online can't solve. So long story short FRAPS is very simple and easy to use and is worth it in my opinion.

i use fraps and have no problem whatsoever..... just remember to delete the clips when you're done with them

Just tick Monitor Aero Desktop.

Fraps killed my HDD. So you better play @ 20mins max or if you have 1-2TB HDD, then play whenever you want.

Bandicam, which is only few bucks higher than Fraps, is the best recording software IN MY OPINION. You can record the screen and the game. And it seperates the mic and in-game sounds.

Well don't play games on high res.I have 954-978 gigabytes of space in my comupter and I always delete my fraps videos when I don't need them and have rendered them.

This is quite an useless feature

-You can record to several hard drives to improve performance
-Overall more options to work with
-The ability to choose how many CPU cores are used to work for the video capture
-8 different audio codecs to choose from

Personally, I like Fraps, though... on my laptop, it's not that great. My laptop's an old boy, honestly... so I usually run games off of my fiance's desktop computer along with Fraps since his computer is pretty awesome.

If not, or the fiance is home, and I can't use his computer...? Well...

I have two external hard drives, so I have Fraps go ahead and record videos to one of the externals while I run games off the other one (since I have my Steam and non-Steam games installed onto one of those externals). Personally, I would suggest it -- especially if recording normally lags your computer. With the data being recording going to the external, it's not taking up more space on your main hard drive on your computer. It leaves a lot of room on the computer itself to do other things without much hindering the process.
