Well if you have 2 big harddrives, one for games and one for recording, you are pretty much safe.
Using one for both purposes are like, NAH. -

if like you said all I need them for is a keyboard and a mouse then it should be fine and enough :3 plus steel is more strong than plastic/steel :3 I think I have chosen the best choice here

NO talking about being a pirate. We'll get screwed. But your choice, windows 8 is for Tablets I believe. I don't like its interface.

indeed it is and neither do I... they didnt even give it the old windows logo... but you can put it on a desktop and the beta versio is free... just saying its something i could legally use until i get money or something, plus even if i DID want to pirate it would be easier doing it from a computer with an OS already, plus windows 8 will eventually take over all computers like windows 7

I will stay on windows 7 though. Since it's still new imo. I'll wait for Windows 9 or whatever they call it so I can see much improvement. Right now, Windows 7 is a good OS.
