    • I'm all for keeping the original voice acting in there, i find it necessary to really bring out the horror aspect! AND IT'S SO WELL DONE! I'm so glad you're doing gameplay for this game, I'd always wanted to play Corpse Party but had been too anxious about playing it alone xD Going through it with you made it easier!     • Pewds, sometimes you really frustrate me.

      Book of Shadows branches off from the good ending of the original, which you got!! Seiko did die in the when you played, her death is unavoidable. You must've gotten confused when she sent Naomi the text over and over or you've just forgotten.
      I know it's been a long time since you've played the original, but things like these just tend to make me upset.

      First! This game is based off a different ending in the first game.

      Satoshi, Ayumi, Yuka, Yoshiki, and Naomi -- I believe...-- they end up not doing the reverse charm correctly again. Instead of making Sachiko rest in piece, they skip it and just chant the Sachiko charm. It ends up taking them back in time, to the day they were going to do the charm. (That is why they are experiencing deja vu, except for some reason, only Satoshi is aware of what everyone went through in the Heavenly Host Elementary school.) Naomi and Seiko had a sleep over, the night before the culture festival -- also the day they perform the charm. Satoshi is upset because he remembers the horrors they all will go through. Once they are all about to perform the charm, he tries to warn them and stop them. Unfortunately, no one listens (they don't know what will happen, unlike Satoshi). In the end, he decides that he needs to help his friends in the hell of Heavenly Host.

      Also... Seiko does have feelings for Naomi.
      That is why she is perverted with Naomi.

      Book of Shadows has some chapters apparently to do with a wrong ending from the first game - chapter 5's wrong end 6 (check the wiki for endings whilst other chapters explain what happened before and after the events of Corpse Party, according to the wiki.
      The newest game - Corpse Party: BloodDrive is a sequel to the true ending from the first game. unlike Book of Shadows

      In regards to the question, the answer is that they did return - but in the previous game. Please listen to this:
      Book of Shadows consists of several chapters which take place before, during and after the events in Corpse Party. The first chapter is an alternate timeline - a separate story- to the first Corpse Party, and relates to wrong end 6 of the first Corpse Party (check the wikipedia corpse party endings) where they do the appeasement wrong in the end causing the to fail and Sachiko sends them back in time with no memories apart from Satoshi who keeps his memories, who joins in the ritual again in the beginning to see whether he can change his friends' fates.
      Since I haven't played through Book of Shadows and I am watching Pewds play through it, I don't know how many more of these chapters are part of the alternate timeline or whether it was just going to be the first chapter - we are going to have to see.
      As for the other chapters - taking a guess - that are to do with events before and after the Corpse Party events will probably not be part of the alternate storyline but a part of the original storyline. The event during though could be either events in the alternate timeline or more detail on the events on the original timeline.
      I've read the wiki without trying to spoil the story for myself - which I lickily didn't - but the next thing that I'm about to say might be a bit of a spoiler - though I don't think so - but read on if you want to...

      After Pewds plays through, he should finally get to an extra chapter (prologue) which relates to after the true ending of the original Corpse Party rather than in the alternate timeline in Book of Shadows. The prologue chapter is called BloodDrive - which introduces us to the next game Corpse Party: BloodDrive. I do not think of this as much of a spoiler since I haven't actually told you what happens in this chapter - and I also don't know myself. All I know is that BloodDrive is a new Corpse Party game set after the true ending of the first game

      This is an update to a previous post^ of mine
      Turns out the only chapters that seem to be part of the stpry of the alternate timeline (the time loop that carries on from wrong end 6 of the original game) are chapters 1,2 and 5 (maybe 6 - but i'm not fully sure). All the other chapters, according to the wiki, are probably events that happened before and after the events of corpse party (the after part is most likely the prologue BloodDrive)
      I'm not sure whether Pewds will be able to unlock the prologue BloodDrive though - depends what he is using to play the game.
      I think that if he is using the PSP, if he moves save data of the previous corpse party game to it - he only needs to complete the true endings in Book of Shadows
      If he using something else or can't move save data from the previous game, he has to complete ALL true and bad endings on every chapter in order to unlock the prologue.
      Please let him see this as I am sure we all want him to unlock and play through the prologue or at least spread the message to him how to unlock the prologue, otherwise he will miss it and we'll probably have to check a different channel or the wiki to find out what happens in it.

      Yeah I thought the actual gameplay part of it was disappointing too, to be honest. It was creepier but I didn't like how most of it was just a still frame and text.
