A multiplayer game i am making, want to take a look? (and win alpha passes)

      The only problem with this in my view is, if you're going to be stealth then you shouldn't be using a sword for silent killing, you should be using a short blade such as a dagger. I would opt for a dagger on the belt with a katana on my back with also a gun on my back.       I was implying swords for more upfront tactics and not stealth, The swords were meant for like saying you're upgrading in the melee category. Say maybe you get a little damage bonus if you attack while crouched with a dagger? and maybe a stunt if you use a sword? Something like that?

      Stealth sounds good but a progression system in terms of melee weapons? Only if it means you improve your skill with them, I don't want a pop up saying I can't use a dagger because I can't use knives well I should still be able to use them but again Progressively improving with them so I can use them more efficiently.
      Yes that would mean you'd get better with your weapons as you go and then unlock the more damage dealing ones (not overpowered though) which in turn give you a bit of a boost with the weapons you've been using already so you don't have to stick to like a Katana or such.

      yeah but again the idea of having a Dead Island weapon thing is odd, I should be able to use a weapon regardless of previous weapon skills, I.E if i pick up a sword I should be able to use it instead of waiting until I excell at knives, and a way I mentioned earlier is to make your character use said weapon very clumsily and gradually improve with it, and to prevent someone just having max stats on all weapons the skills degrade the longer you don't use a weapon I.E I used a sword to the max then started to get a sledge hammer to the max, when you are done with the hammer, the sword skill decreases by at least 50% so people can specialize more
      This would be a rather good Idea so that no one can be like overpowered. I like it and the effects from doing certain things, (say jumping from the roof to slam a sledge hammer on top of someone? (while damaging yourself from the fall of course :P)) Will do damage bonuses as well as doing other things or say someone has a certain kind of armor and they wear it, say the sword hits the said armor, damage stunt from that. Or say someone stabs the armor. Damage stunt. These sound reasonable?

    • So far i am liking the idea of melee weapons / knives. I think it would broaden certain playing styles. And since it is easy to run out of ammo, you would have at least a fighting chance with a knife or melee weapon. The will be implemented after alpha.

      What would you all like to see implemented as melee weapons? Knives, swords, baseballbats?


      What do you guys think about selfmade bows and spears? since ammo is scarce, it would be a way to always being able to defend yourself, even if the self made weapons are weaker.

      Daggers, machetes, butcher knife etc. Could be all kitchen knives as the world will contain buildings and in those buildings will have kitchens/cafeterias right? So a frying pan and kitchen knives could be a real world factor, what else could you find naturally in the world for weapons? Police stations so there will be batons and firearms(scarce amounts though) etc. Fire departments with fire axes. Hell you might as well put in poisons in the game that we can make so we can poison others via food and other ways!

    • Yes and you should implement self made silencers (finding two bottle cans, I saw this implemented in like army of two I think and I liked the idea, and this also shoulnd't be as silent as if you used and actual silencer) you would have a hard time dealing with a school if you made one. Since almost everything in a school can be lethal from smacking people with rulers to attacking them with the weight disks. I mean you should even implement hiding in things like barrels(they wouldn't appear too much), trash cans, dumpsters, portapotties, closets, and showers. Those would all be cool to help get away from a fight or sneak up on someone when they least expect it (wouldn't happen WAY to much since it's a huge map.)

      Well if the scenario in the game would happen for real (lol!) getting guns won't be a problem, after some time bullets will become hard to come by.

      Well thats true. And to be honest, i did not really like it. The melee weapons should be ones last ditch weapons wich one would always be able to rely on. Scratch the weapon breaking, since melee weapons wont be as powerfull to begin with.

      I believe the more one uses a melee weapon the more it can do as much damage as a gun. (not more but just as much) that way if someone likes to use melee weapons they gain the use of having it since the gun can be boring for some people and thus granting a broader ranger of choice and variety.

      True, i would like the game to support almost any playing style. And to be honest, a blunt object to the head can be as deadly as a headshot.

      Since i am an avid gamer myself, i try to keep the gamer in mind when designing everything. So every area has tactical spots to cover and hide while i tried to keep the possibility for camping to a minimum. Every area and / or situation will be entered or solved in different ways, from different angles. I am basically trying to design the game so that no one will have a real advantage over somebody else. No place is un-takable or un-defendable, it all depends on the people playing.
      There will be no points for killing creatures, but one could swoop in and take the "insect meat" from your just killed creature. Depends on you how you are going to solve that. :D

      I would encourage everyone in Alpha to find bugs, loopholes and faults in the game and gameplay :thumbsup:

    • alright but are there any explosives or anything that can propel someone with enough force to glitch through stuff? and I would encourage you try to make them walls as thick as possible, unless you want this game to en up like Red Dead Redemption, there are so many bugs for going through walls :3
