  • I want to say something about the Graffiti thing:

I'm not sure if you know the professional graffiti because If you don't call that art, then I don't know what art is for you. It's sad that this type of art is always confined to the writings and not the real street art, like here:

half the battle of a painting is choosing the right medium. you can't just "paint it on canvas" since it cannot have the same effect as on a wall and therefore the meaning you wanted it to have is gone and completely different.
I hate it when people lump those different styles together. Graffiti is often used for politic or sociocritical pictures and as a way to express rebellion against normality and society. I personally would rather watch a colorful wall instead of a plain grey one.
If you only mean the "Style-Writing" and not the street art (look up Banksy for example), please say so directly the next time. People like me get easily offended by statements like that.

Other than that: You are nice. I like you. :)

  • Its not that I don't like art, I just don't like the way how it's being made. Maybe I am wrong about that, but I just don't like the fact that people draw on someone else's property. When you do it, use your own stuff.
I know it's used for protest and having an opinion, but I want people to be direct. Say what you think, but do it in my face.
And it's a matter of opinions. If it's colorful and nice and people want it to stay, so be it. But when it's completely overboard and it's unacceptable, it needs to be removed. Street writing or pop art.

Also, for me art is a way of giving emotions, memories and/or experiences through a medium.

  • It's not always someone else's property and some People even pay for graffiti on their walls. That is the main problem of every kind of art: People don't inform about this and don't know how it really works or what it's about. I agree that it can be really bothersome when painted on a wall where it doesn't belong. But real street art from professional sprayers is unbelievably expenisve and popular because it creates something gorgeous out of a boring white wall and requires a lot of talent and skill. Of course there is graffiti that is ugly as fuck, especially the writings, even I can admit that. But please don't generalize the professional side with the vandalism side, that's all I'm asking.

And I would like to know: Would you not feel any emotions if there was a gigantic wall with a huge eye staring down at you?

Eyes speak. Even though not verbal, they still do. I'd probably feel being small, but I will be big. And it takes guts to gaze into the eye of judgement and stay strong.
  • The thing about graffiti is you can mistake what has been allowed and what has been done via vandalism so its confusing to know what's what. I believed the moment I saw Mystery say graffiti I instantly thought vandals. I hate vandals, hell I see a number of them from time to time. But professional, legal graffiti artists are awesome as hell. London is full of that awesome shit and doing it before myself, it was hella fun. I know what's done legally and what's done as vandalism so I'm OK with graffiti but what views Mystery has on it, I can only deduce via what I know as fact >_>

    Doesn't do much if it's a commissioned graffiti. :p
But enough of that, I think we all got the point.

    Instead I'm asking a question:
Does your avatar have a meaning or is it just a random neko?

The blue neko is my signature logo, I'm officially the forum's pet. A cat, to be precise.

Do you frequently play video games and if yes, what games have you been playing lately. Maybe your favorite genre?
I do play a lot of games. Usually they range from FPS to story driven rpg games. I am currently busy with a science fiction tactical co-op game called Interstellar Marines.

My favourite genre is, uh... FPS, puzzle and emotional games. Tears galore...
