  • DO NOT get SteelSeries products, I had a Sibera V2 headset and had nothing but problems with it. Their customer service SUCKS.
Seeings as the warranty was 1 year and they broke after 6 months, I sent them a ticket asking for a repair, it was authorised, I sent it, got a receipt and took a photo of it, emailed it to them. (I had to pay for the shipping there.)
They then said it hadn't arrived after a month, and said I was responsible for it as it needed tracking (Not previously mentioned in any email), I then showed them receipt again, wrote paragraphs on how they were wrong etc.
They then magically "Found" my headset, and they were apparently "changing warehouses", which is why the mix up happened.
They sent me a new one within 24 hours because I kicked up a fuss after waiting for so long.

Along with that, they get uncomfortable after a month, their sound quality is crap for the amount they cost (both input and output) and their only redeeming quality is the uni directional mic - which the casing moves around on, so it is pointless.

Needless do say I'm never going to buy anything from them again.

If you want a good headset, wait till January Sales and then you'll be able to pick up a decent one for cheaper. :)
    So uh. I write

Thanks for the review ! I'm still thinking about Corsair Vengeance 1500 headphones.. Although I've been hearing a lot of reviews telling that they deal with a lot of microphone issues when they purchase the item.. Really confused about all of this so far :D
  • If you're wanting quality, it'd be better to buy plain headphones and a plain microphone.

I use a Samsung C03U microphone which I got for $50 on black friday, then some razer electra (Very nice for the price) for around $40.

It's way better just to buy them separate if you're wanting quality ;)
  • I am not a huge microphone guy, and I WOULD recommend the turtle beach series, but there is one fatal flaw: the cord.

The cord on the turtle beaches get so twisted after a large amount of use, it becomes near unusable. These large twists in the headset end up cutting the wire, degrading the audio quality after some time. I am looking into a pair of Razer Carcharias, which supposedly have nice sound. Overall, do NOT get Turtle Beach headsets, unless you enjoy neatly hanging up and folding your headset wire every time you finish using them.

What type of turtle beach specifically would you recommend ? :)

I'd say go for the Razor Kraken 7.1 surround sound. Such an eargasm... only complaint I have is that there is no volume control on the headset itself and they are quite powerful. Mic doesn't pick up any sounds coming from the headphones themselves and the recording quality in my opinion is really good.
    I'm a 14 year old Youtuber looking for a good microphone :P
