    • How to - Good fandom vs. Bad fandom

As you may know, the "bros" (or Pewdiepie's fandom) are incredibly hated on the Internet, and for a good reason : the majority of the "bros" act as a BAD fandom, mostly due to their young age and not being able yet to act correctly on the Internet. This is why I'm here to explain you how to act on the Internet as a "bro", to restore the fandom's image, but mostly to stop the constant drama.

First of all, what is a fandom? A fandom is a community on the Internet regrouped around a certain subject that people like. They discuss, sometimes through codes, create content and share informations over the said subject.
There are tons of fandoms : the "bros" (fans of Pewdiepie), furry (fans of anthropomorphic animals), brony (fans of My Little Pony), Pokémon (kinda self-explanatory here), etc...

Now, what will make the difference between a good fandom and a bad fandom? The first thing to understand is that a fandom isn't good or bad according to what the fandom is about : everyone is free to like what they want, nothing is better than another thing, no matter what people are pleased to say. Biggotry is a plague on the Internet.
Pewdiepie is NOT better than MLP, MLP is NOT better than Touhou, Touhou is NOT better than Pokémon, etc. You can not like it, but it's not up to you to judge what's better or not.

Once you have that in mind, what is, then, a good fandom? Well, a good fandom will only be determined on the members of the fandom. More annoying the fans will be, the worse the fandom will be, which is why you need to learn the difference between a fan and a fanboy.

A fan loves something, read/create/share content about what he loves, shares his interests, understand that what he loves is not perfect, has its flaws, yet accept them and like it nonetheless.
A fanboy loves something, read/create/share content about what he loves, shoves his interests in people's throats, worship what he loves as a deity without accepting its flaws and harshly criticize other fandoms or people not in his fandom.

As you may have understood, the more fanboys, the worse the fandom. How to act then, as "bros", so you won't be seen as annoying but as a true fandom?
      • Don't force people to like what you like : it's incredibly immature, and useless. People are free to not like what you do without being "stupid".
      • Don't shout your "codes" (such as "barrels", "brofist", etc...) everywhere : to others, it's just annoying.
      • Accept other fandoms without harshly criticizing/insulting them.
      • Accept that what you like is not perfect.
And this, ladies and gentlemen, is how to act as a good fandom member. Good Internet browsing.

What if I would worship a deity within a deity?

      Deityception

Also it is true that everyone is allowed to like what they like, but I also want to state that the border between (harshly) criticizing and factual content is quite slim on some cases to be honest, but that is determined by what the overall fanbase does. An intellectual person should look at each individual case rather than looking to the bigger group.

      For Example :
Overall the MLP fanbase is annoying due to the fact they shove their stuff in your face, but this doesn't mean that every brony is a grade A asshole.

That's atleast how I look at stuff, I have friends from multiple fandoms and we don't shove eachothers stuff in someones face (with shoving obviously meaning that the other person doesn't like the content from the other fanbase and has stated it) and we almost all agree on this one.
