Microphone Distortion

Not sure if there is a thread for this, searched it but couldn't find one.

I'm looking to figure out how to remove mic distortion from being too loud basically, I could turn the general volume down but I need it loud enough to hear other commentary aswell?

Any ideas, the one video I did sounds really bad at one point because its so loud for the mic (Blue Yeti btw)..

Wow, yeti. I'm personally using audacity\bandicam to capture commentary. It saves the sound to an additional file, so u can easily get it up\down and change it, if u want to.

I record mine seperately aswell but its way to distorted to solve

Well, I checked your vids, sound isn't bad. And I can't really figure out what do u mean saying "distortion" :pinch:

The normal sound is fine, if you look at my Outlast video however (/watch?v=lgpxJH_GhZ0and) go to 17:07

Really, it was majorly different on the original as I've played around with the settings before upload. I was just way too loud for the mic

I have my Bleu Yeti on the lowest sensitivity (there is a knob on the back of the microphone, turn that all the way to the left), positioned half a foot away from my mouth. This seems to record clear good audio.

If I have that all the way down its too quiet. What do you have Windows volume on in the mic settings?

Well, my PC is turned of at the moment and I'm about to go to sleep (writing this from my phone). If I remember correctly half way. I'll check tomorrow and write it here.
