    Hey bro's,

    I apologise if there is a more suitable thread for this, please let me know! I looked, but to no avail!

    I have a Blue Yeti Mic for audio recordings, but as it sits on a desk, the base of the mic picks up every little bump and vibration from here to Mexico. Unfortunately getting a boom-mic stand sort of thing is out of the question due to space issues :/ would placing acoustic foam/rubber beneath my mic stand pick up some of the vibrations at least?

    When I type it sounds like rhinos racing down my face.

    Not cool.

  • -Download Audacity audacity.sourceforge.net/

    -Open a new file and click record and let it record the dead air or do the things you'd want removed from the track(typing,a fan,humming from your machine,etc). It only has to be a few seconds long.

    -Highlight the entire track (ctrl+a)

    -Go to Effects>Noise Removal>Get Noise Profile (This will remember all of the things you don't want in your track)

    -Record normal commentary that you would for your videos using audacity.

    -After doing that highlight the entire track and go back into Effects>Noise Removal> and make sure to have the option (remove) ticked.

    -Set the following parameters:

    Noise Reduction: 25

    Sensitivity: 3.09

    Frequency Smoothing: 400

    Attack/Delay Time: 0.15

    Click OK.

    -Next go to Effects>Treble & Bass and change the Bass to 6

    This should eliminate any background noise that you don't want picked up.

    Also, make sure the mic volume isn't all the way up. You should have it where it would only pick up your voice right next to the mic and nothing around it.
