The scariest game I've played so far is definitely White Day. On top of the occasional jumps they have in the game, there are also some scenes and secrets within the game which can leave you with sleepless nights.

Other than that, the custom stories from Amnesia are also pretty good.

Haven't really played that many, so Amnesia and Slenderman

Afraid of Monsters or White Day.

Amnesia (the original one + a few custom stories), Slenderman and RPG maker horrors. Judge me if you want but they can be really scary.

It's gotta be Silent Hill 1. Music in that game is the most disturbing thing I have ever heard.

Silent Hill 2, and Resident Evil 2.

I have to go with japanese horror as they actually have a story and aren't that much focussed on scaring you shitless, sure there are scary moments (and well placed mind you, not some average stupid jumpscare nowadays), but the story is what makes me go haywire most. Talking about Siren franchise with Bloodcurse excluded (which was a western remake of one, sadly in episodic and chronologic order (although they kinda pulled it off nicely, but the end stuff was kinda disappointing and the game wasn't that scary/creepy overall) and the Fatal Frame/Project Zero franchise.

Fatal Frame is the shit.

Penumbra Black Plague is the most terrifying one for me.

Silent Hill 1 will always be my favorite

I guess Silent Hill 3 Will do for me. That was the first horror game I actually freaked out about

The original Dead Space.

It has this very creepy sense of adventure since you don't know what's on the ship. And it's actually one of the darkest games created so that really adds to it. I don't know if it's dark because of bad graphics or what, but it's pretty freakin dark!

Amnesia and Slender

I think my favourite one is Silent Hill 3.

I think Slender the eight pages (it's the only one that I played)
