    • Help.. Too shy to speak :/

      Howdie!
I've got a big problem.. I'm to shy to speak in videos.. Gettin bad feedback sometimes but I really don't know what I can do to make it better :(
And also my english isn't pretty good. Is this neccessary for you? If yes, I keep on making videos in german.
      I really appreciate your help!

      Greetz :S
      Don't change for anyone.
    • Just practice! The first video I ever made is one of the worst videos ever uploaded x) But with time you will become more comfortable, I don't think anyone made top quality videos from the beginning :)

    • SirBolls (cool name) has a point.

Just speak like you speak with your friends or family, be relaxed and interesting. How to be interesting? Look at Pewds, if you analyze his gameplay videos, you're gonna see that what he likes doing is give small remarks about small things, so basically interaction with all the things in the game you're playing. If I'm not mistaken, I believe this is how he 'met' Stephano and that's become like one of 'his things'.

Also, try to have a 'vibrant' commentary, talk like 90-95% of the time even though your English is not good. My English is quite poor as well and sometimes I make stupid mistakes or I don't know what words to use to describe something. But have a try, if you say something grammatically incorrect you can just laugh afterwards :D (Pewds does it as well, all the time).

Good luck with that and don't forget that at the end of the day, it's just you in front of a computer when recording. There's not millions of people watching you at that moment, but if you have a good commentary, they might watch it after you upload it. There's no pressure :)

    • Okay, I have a list for you. My teacher taught this to my class:

      STANCE:

      1) Believe in yourself.
      2) Be yourself.
      3) Be excited.
      4) Set reasonable limits.
      5) Like the audience.
      6) Forget about yourself (for instance, it doesn't matter how you look like).
      7) Be positive.
8 ) Learn to tolerate criticism.

      GROUNDWORK:

      1) Know your business and your goals.
      2) Know your audience.
      3) Prepare well (think of what you say during the video).
      4) Organise your case clearly (if you have something important to say).
      5) (Train in front of the mirror.)

      BEFORE THE VIDEO:

      1) Regulate your breathing.
      2) Relax.

      DURING THE VIDEO:

      1) Create eye contact (sometimes look at the camera).
      2) Move lightly during the video.

      ALSO:

      1) Take care of the physical condition.
      2) Get the experience of performing.

This should go. Have a nice day! :)

    • Well you know how you play an online game with your friends, and you are shouting and swearing and laughing and stuff?

Well we, your internet friends and subscribers, we all do the same thing, and we are entertained by it too. It doesn't matter if you have some of the same mannerisms as Pewdiepie as long as you are still yourself.

Be yourself, and have fun doing it, and people will like it. If you are having fun then it's fun for everyone watching too.

    • Experience breeds confidence... just keep at it and you'll see improvements over time.

I know i'm essentially repeating what others have said but I look back at my earlyest work now and see how far I've come... but get as much feedback as you can keep at it.. might be a slow gradual change but you'll get there... just like speaking in public

    • How I see the issues:

      - English would make your audience bigger.
      - If in German, put it in your title, that way you will receive maximum views for this technique as people that only speak German will realise that this is a video compatible for them (If you get what I mean)
      - Possibly ask an English friend to practise English with you so that you can become more fluent.
      - And in the case of being shy... Think to your self, "I love doing this, random people that I don't know aren't going to ruin it." You can also think about the fact that you are doing it to random people, they don't know you, they aren't going to live near you (probably), so you will probably not need to worry about people taking the piss out of you to your face or legitimately bullying you. Just think, let the haters hate, they are probably just trolling anyways...

      Thats my personal opinions/experience.

      Hope this helped :)
