Garry's mod crashing :(

Hey bros I need help with Garry's mod on steam

I have the 100% legal version of Garry's mod along with HL2 :Episode 1, and 2 to run it with
I try to start up a map in Garry's mod I get this error
"Engine error: Steam DLL isn't worthy of our trust on line 76561198058743680 "

I have tried verifying the files of all three programs and I have seen other forums say
just restart your computer and re-run it but I do that and sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't

I'm really confused.... NOTE: It has worked before Thanks :S

i dont think you need the following but on my friends computer he had these and they are all valve games (or mods whatever)
Portal
DoD source
CS:S

I do know you need a game with Valve's Source engine but HL2 uses the source engine I believe :wacko:
