What is the most difficult video game you've ever played?

Tomb Raider 3 when I was younger. Oh my god that ********* game! Could barely get down the slope at the beginning then after that I never had a clue! And I always used to jump backwards and forwards for no reason and stuff. UGHHHHH!!!!! THAT GAME!!!!!! Haven't revisited since I was about 7 ahaha. Too stressful xD

I want to say Dark Souls, but I just know I'm missing something from my child I'm forgetting about. Or rather... repressing

To tell you the truth Touhou is pretty much just memorizing patterns, but I still love the hell out of it. I've played a lot of hard games, but I think the most difficult thing I've ever done in a game before is beat Vanquish Challenge 6. A short search of the internet will indicate that only a handful of people have ever accomplished this feat

Buuuuut as for a game that is just naturally difficult, I would go with Devil May Cry 3. That game was pretty batshit crazy.

Fire Emblem Awakening, Lunatic difficulty and Classic mode.

Touhou is pretty hard too but definitely not as hard as Fire Emblem (That's saying a lot)

Demon's Souls is one of them I think, I had so much trouble with it, later it got easier but it was still intense.

Dark Souls / Demon Souls is a great example of hellish difficulty. But you could go farm for hours and be invincible if you're THAT patient.


And about Touhou... It's one of those game that slams you to the ground and stomp at your genitals repeatedly for even trying to beat it. Especially UFO (Undefined Fantastic Object). That shit is nightmarish stuff. Heck i can't beat stage 4 ON EASY.

It's hard to pick a hardest game... I've played loads of classic games on SNES/Sega etc that were incredibly hard but i've also played some newer-gen games that are dead tricky too... The first game that comes to mind to me right now is Battle Clash on the SNES. That final boss was always tricky for me to beat but I managed it.

As for newer games, I struggled quite a bit on getting past certain sections in the older Resident Evil games, not just battles but also some puzzles. It's impossible for me to pick the hardest I've ever played :')

EDIT - Also Ikaruga. I can barely make it to level 3 SOME of the time but then I perish in a flurry of flames.
