Well, the ones that pop from the top of my mind are SCP Containment Breach and Ao Oni (even though this one isn't as scary as SCPCB, in my opinion)
There's Cry of Fear too, but basicaly, you need to own Half-Life first, since it's a conversion mod.
Those are all the ones I know.

There is a lot of flash games and such (mostly point and click) which are free and scary

Try Ib (creepy game), and...look, if you want to try horror games, why don't you torrent it at first, see if you enjoy playing it, and buy the game if your satisfied enough? it shouldn't be too hard to torrent a game really----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
