    • YouTube growing pains and video capturing troubles

I'm having a tough time recording games like Gmod and Amnesia: TDD. Also, Xsplit isn't working for them and deserves to die. What has work perfectly for anyone else? Please give me Names, link, and other tid-bits in your reply. I'm trying so hard to get my channel to launch.

      RAWR MOTHERF***ERS!!!

You know you can just make a commentary after recording the video too?
That's no worse than recording for a long time and then realize you aren't recording half way through. Done that several times. It becomes habit to make sure everything is ready to go now lol.

I absoloutley hate post-commentary videos, everything all planned out I hate it

Also if I were to do a post commentary would not be the same, the suprise element and reaction of me at that moment is what people want to see not a stupid post commentary mono-tone crap

Plus I was in a skype call with someone at the time so yeah
    • Well for online stuff Camtasia is great, even for Happy Wheels online :P

For fullscreen/3D games try Bandicam-the free version has a watermark and 10 minute limit but it is HD,with Mic support and you can set the files to be lower without losing quallity

If you don't mind uploading HUGE files try Fraps. It is paid, but it does full 1080p recording which is great for horror games :D
    • For me, fraps all the way :) I use windows movie maker for webcam recording cos my laptop is custom built so the webcam doesn't have any software along with it. I don't use seperate software for audio recording though.

    • I would have to agree with a fair few people here and recommend Fraps.
As for recording myself I just use my generic webcam software or Windows Sound Checker (Which is found in accessories in your start bar) for purely audio recordings.

Happens to the best of youtubers too and all you can do is get into the habit of testing ebfore recording all the time.
I've had it happen to a playthrough I did twice. So by the time I actually recorded it properly it was my 3rd time playing it and it didn't look natural anymore so I deleted it.
