    • Saints Row IV (4) Or is it Saints Row 3.5, What do you guys think ? (maybe spoilers)

I've been playing Saints Row IV for about 4 days now and i feel like the game is missing that special something that makes a game feel new and redesigned, The game felt the same as the third one. Alot has changed in Saints Row IV with the addition of super powers, Which in some ways makes the game a bit annoying and boring, Maybe makes your character a little over powered. The just feels like they took all the old stuff and put new wrappers on them, To give people the illusion that they are different things, Somethings i can see the old stuff in them, For instance you can tell some of the weapons are the same like the burst rifle, The pistols, Shotguns and everything else, Even the Screaming eagle jet comes up saying how to control it using the name "Vtol". The only thing new seems to be the story.

What do you guys think, Is it a new completely different game that truly deserves the title of Saints Row IV (4) , Or is it just a mere illusion and it's actually just Saints Row 3.5, Tell me what you guys think.
    • I personally think its Saints Row 3.5, I know what you mean by "missing that special something"
Saints Row 4 was originally intended as a DLC for saints row 3 that's why it feels like very little has changed, they instead made it into the next part of the game so yeah, its 3.5 disguised as 4

    • Seems like a sequel to me. New mechanics, new storyline, new features, new clothing, new weapons, better graphics.

New thing is the story? I've yet to play SR2 which I'm looking forward to due to being better than SR IV and The Third, but there's A LOT of new things aside from the story.

Okay well the Saints Row IV story line was meant to be a dlc for the third game but they didn't do it because of THQ going bust, So when deepsilver tool over they turned the dlc into a full game instead. saintsrow.wikia.com/wiki/Enter_The_Dominatrix they added some little features to the dlc. Also the graphics are exactly the same as the third game and the powers were used in the SR3 in The Trouble With Clones DLC and for the weapons, They are exactly the same as the third game but with new weaopn models. It just still feels like a massive expansion pack rather than a full game. But saints row 2 is alot better than the other 2, More gang wars.
    • I wouldn't say its a 3.5 at all, this game is on a completly new scale and as the game it self, iam just totally in love with it, its so much fun and addictive and i'd recommend it to anyone, the best feature for me is the customazation of your character 8)

I already knew that. Duh. Graphics are the same? Nooope! Stop playing the shitty compressed graphics on consoles and launch it on Ultra on your PC. You'll see the difference. The powers were used in SR:TT yes, but did they let you freeze blast things? Did they let you upgrade them? Could you climb walls? I'm only saying, it's a lot more than Saints Row 3.5.

You should play Saints Row 2 and see how much they downgraded the customisation. In Saints Row 2, you can wear socks, three layers of upper body clothing, gender SLIDER instead of gender choice, different fighting styles (KUNG FU! WOO!) and few things more.

    • But in all fairness, They could have done alot more, Just saying. But by the looks of it, Saints Row V may be on the way. I was just disappointed with the game to be honest. It was short and lacked something special as i said before. I don't think it deserves the title of Saints Row IV, It's more of an expansion pack, Sorry to say...But doesn't mean it's bad, Alot of expansion packs have added weapons, Powers, Clothing and different mechanics. I just want the game to go back to the style of Saints Row 2. also i got to about 97% in to the game in about 16 hours, That's including messing around, Not good really.

From what I've heard, the game is about the same length as Saints Row The Third. You might have rushed it a bit. I don't think they'll be releasing Saints Row V anytime soon.

    • I think it's a Saints Row 3.5, because i saw in the installation folder some stuff even called like : sr3_(something)
It's fun but i too think that it should be a more expensive DLC due to the differences compared to what other DLC's do.
I'm not so far on story because i'm doing all the optional quests. i love em :P
And f*cking up some alien army is fun too xD

    • When I found out it was supposed to be a DLC for Saints Row 3 it kind of annoyed me a wee bit, sort of a shortcut/sly cheating way of getting more out of it than it was, would have been an awesome DLC but yeah

I was 50/50 on the matter but im ok with it I guess but I still remain solid on the whole 3.5 aspect of it

Wouldnt call it an entirely new next gen game at all at all

Wouldnt go as far as calling it Saints Row IV anyway
