Amnesia CS Problem

Hey guys, I really wanna play some scary Amnesia Custom Stories, but I download, extract, and move them to everyplace that has been suggested, and they still won't show up in the CS menu at the loader! I've Googled it hundreds of times and have literally seen dozens of videos, followed instructions, and nothing. I don't know if it's something with my game, I'm doing something wrong, or I'm just retarded (Which seems to be the case a lot.) My Amnesia is a hard copy bought from Amazon. Please help soon! D:

Explain the directory you are placing your files, 'cause there are two different places to put them that can be mixed up between retail and steam.

I put them in the custom_stories folder. It's Amnesia The Dark Descent/redist/custom_stories

I wanna play the Dark Room. And what do you mean "Whole Folder"? And I've tried this with literally dozens of CS's. None of them worked.

ok move each folder (or file) into the correct area and dont replace the original file..... i saw a tutorial on how to do this and i applaud him because it is quite hard to explain

Dark room is a Total conversion, not a Custom story. If you open up a zp containing the dark room. You will see that it has all the folders such as entities and sounds and stuff like that. Merge the entities/sounds/textures/billboards with the ones on your root folder of amnesia. Then in the custom story folder where you tried placing it earler, place the folder inside the "cusom_stories" folder inside the dark room.rar

Okay, so I moved the maps folder to maps, billboards to billboards, etc etc. And I put the custom_stories folder in the custom_stories folder, opened Amnesia, and it STILL DIDEN'T SHOW UP. What did I do wrong?!

Put the dark room folder in the custom story folder.

Why don't you download Desura.com?
It's got loads of good Custom Stories and It automatically install the custom story.
It's pretty easy .. just dowload it .. search for a custom story and click the button which says Install mod on the right corner.

Actually, what Flamez3 said worked! But I'll see if Desura is that easy and if so, I'll use it.
