Well, if we wait for night, then it will be easier to travel but much more dangerous. If we decide to go right now, then it will be hot and hard, there's hardly any shady place left as you approach that wasteland and the forest...or what's left of it. But we might be able to get to the forest lake before dark without much problems. Your call.
