      Ok.I am a great fan of pewdiepie. I have been around since his awkward black ops videos :D . Im in the 300 subscribers club and I am very proud of myself 8) . I have supported Pewds every step of every way since the beggining of his youtoube channel and I still do to this day. I consider him unique in a very funny way,and I laugh at (almost) every video that he makes. Why the " almost " ?

      This is why I am making this thread.
      I introduced myself earlier as a hardcore fan.I am 16 year's old.Probably not a very mature adge and I acknowledge that.
      Pewd's...This is really hard for me to say but fame changed you. Not in the way that you are probably thinking right now. I am saying subtle but important changes in your humor,behaviour and your let's play's.


      I am gonna try to get my point across in a very simple and well mannered way so that everyone can listen to this and take it very seriously.


      Lets talk about the "Old" pewdiepie . I am not fond of that term but it's the best one I can think of right now.
      You were playing mostly horror games like the Penumbra games and Amnesia The Dark Descent. These were the "main" videos that really brought out the FELIX (happy) in you. You were brilliant,from your reactions,to your rambling while being scared,by the way I consider that the best part. You were ALWAYS rambling where you were scared,and that played a major part when you created the character's that we know and love like Stephano,Piggeh,Ms.Chair,Barrels (we don't love those) and more recent one's.

      Your intro consisted of a montage of you playing horror games and getting EPIC reactions on 8-bit music (generally). Your outro's were a neat animation of the bro or a "What to Watch Next" panel accompanied by that techno song or The chase is On by Hoodie Allen. These were nice neat song's that defined what you meant as a persona and what your channel had become. A channel where SOMEONE with a camera was slowly gaining up an audience while SH****ING his pant's playing Indie,Scary and well-made horror games. It almost was like an Underground Club where just GOOD FRIENDS came and had a great time! That is what watching you grow up as a let's player felt like! You even said it yourself in one of your livestreams!


      When you were doing one of your first livestreams playing Amnesia,and I just checked your twitch page for funzies and I saw you having small talk with people that just came in to see if you're doing something! You were tweaking your livestream program and even played the binding of isaac for us!

      I also remember how I suggested the Stayin' Alive CS and when you actually played it I was so happy,but then so angry when you forgot my youtoube username at the time ;(

      It was truly one of the best year's of my live (for multiple reasons) and one of them was YOU. YOU helped me through some of my worst moments of my life and always made me smile! You truly deserve every fame you are getting and your beautiful girlfriend Marzia.


      Now let's talk about the "new" Pewd's. As before,I dont like using this term...


      Your intro consist's of you with a fan-made music,your HAHAHA-HOW'S IT GOIN BRAHS,that by the way is cool in a way with some fanart. Nothing wrong here,but a montage like before made me feel like part of something...like more than now. It was something that defined you. We saw every scary moment with you at the beggining of every video! And we are sort of reminded that you are a brilliant let's player. Now it's just...mainstream? I am truly sorry and I feel that some of the trolls I have been arguing with on some forums are really getting to me..but now it's just ... expected. You are'nt "unique" anymore,and there is nothing wrong with that,but I feel that you are another regular LP-er witch you are NOT. You were bringing your own spin and feel on your videos and that isn't there anymore! It isnt PEWDIEPIEEE!!!!! anymore,it's just PEWDIEPIE! if you understand me...I simply cannot put it any more clearer...I feel that is a good example. You are still GREAT but you aren't AWESOME! I am not saying that you shouldnt be trying something new,or you shouldnt be moving on,or you shouldnt try to innovate. NO. I am saying that you acknowledge some of the things I have said here.


      You played Deadpool ,as a more recent example. The game is HILARIOUS! And coupled with you its even more funny. I bought the game as I was laughing my ass off by the first video!


      But,PewDiePie,as I know it,as many more bro's know it,is not...visible anymore. When the trolls got to you and they said to just make no more rape jokes,you listened to them. But the thing is,not only you ended the rape jokes,you ended much more too! You were'nt afraid to put some stronger jokes out there! You were'nt afraid to be more "immature" with your jokes. It was what made you! It was your own PEWDIEPIE spin on it! Whenever the Bro appeared you were saying mmmmhm dat ass. And those moments had me laughing,in a way that I dont do anymore! You were changing your voice accordingly to the game,you were a GENIUS in humor! I am not saying that you are'nt anymore,I am saying that I feel you are doing something wrong,and you are headed the direction every LP-er eventually goes. When you get too much fame,you are starting to look after your own image. Now with 11 million subs,you are on your way to being the most subscribed channel on YOUTOUBE. But your audience is getting younger and younger,witch is not a neccessarily a bad thing,as I am,too,a kid,with only 16 years on my back,but they,the 8-14 year old's are saying DO HALO! DO CALL OF DUTY! DO BATTLEFIELD! DO EVERY OVER-THE-TOP TRIPLE A TITLE THAT JUST CAME OUT ! I know that maybe you want to be more than just someone who throws immature jokes in horror games,but you could do that on your second channel too!


      All I am asking and saying,is that you have to pay more attention to what you're playing. Dont play mainstream games just because the majority of the younger audience of your channel is saying it. There are some very good "mainstream" games out there,that probably would suit you. And that's what I'm saying here.Play what you think is fitting for the PEWDIEPIE spin.


      I thank all of you bro's who had the paitence to read all of this,give your honest and prefferably well-mannered opinion on it,and MAYBE,JUST MAYBE,if I am lucky,Pewdiepie will see it and will give me his thought's on my opinion. I am not pressuring anyone here,just putting my opinion out to you Bro's and to Pewd's.

    • You did a very good job expressing your opinion in a clear and polite way, and i agree with you said for the most part. I myself subbed at 2M, and the first thing i saw was a to the moon video, so i get it when talk about him not being mainstream.

      However, i think that its not his fault he became mainstream. i believe (and this is just my opinion) that he started to be percieved that way because other people started to imitate him, and of course theres nothing wrong with that. One who does not imitate anything acomplishes nothing.
      On the other hand, him playing, as you well said, some over-the-top triple A title like deadpool contribute to this perception of him.

      Some people say very lightly that this is because he doesnt "evolve". I personally think that "evolving" doesnt come much natural to human beings, once we feel comfortable we try not to change things. Moreover, evolving its not the same as changing yourself recklessly, thats just becoming a different person.

      But in the end, he is still pewds, he still owns that old good magic. Mybe one day he will know how use it to the fullest again.

      P.S: And by the way nostalgia is like that, we usually think about only the good things about the past, and so ,we think is better than the present.

      Yes I do believe that it has much to do with what you said. I like that every reply I got was polite and with a strong opinion. Let's see him play the new Amnesia : A Machine for Pigs. I am quite excited for that experience,as I would never even dare to hover over the Amnesia icon.

      Well at that time,when he had only like 1-2 thousand view's on eatch video and not that many comment's so it definetly felt like it was me,cause I did'nt see any comments with suggestion's because he said that suggestion's should be sent in email's and such.     • It great to see a very old bro still on the forums. I subscribe at about the ???k+ mark (can't remember, but it was early hundreds of thousands). It's also great to hear abou people who have managed to get pewds to play a suggested game. Surprisingly, I suggested Pewdie and Marzia to play Get on Top, a game made by the same guy who made QWOP. I was fucking stoked. If you need proof, look it up on youtube, and check the description. The profile name will match with the description name.



      I understand your problem with pewdie branching out from his original content. We can't help him for it, people evolve and adapt to new environments, in this case, as new games come out, pewdie will change, and not stick to just amnesia.

      When he played Deadpool or The Last of Us,witch is a BRILLIANT game,dont get me wrong,but other than seeing he react to the emotional scenes in the game...it was rather bland. I found myself only watching the first,the last,and the burning house part (for no spoilers).


      I really wish he would just look on this thread or many other's as I have seen,that have the same opinion,and just be more carefull with games he play's on his channel. I'm not saying it's bad in any way,but he is moving away from what he was or what he meant. I get it that you have to change sometime,but his channel is only like 2 years old. The part that I am nostalgic about didnt last for more than like 8 months.


      It didnt get old,it got better and better,and as the audience got younger and younger,it started getting to him. Now he is cussing at the wrong times,and overall trying too hard. Those thing's came naturally and he wasn't trying at all. He had this "dont like it dont watch it" attitude that worked brilliantly. He wasn't afraid of saying something,and in most cases he said it at the right time. He didn't talk all the time,trying too hard,he saw an opportunity for a joke and he made it into something that made my day!


      He is still awesome and I still love him for it,because as much as he "lost",he is still a unique Let's Player.

    • And one thing I dont understand is that similar thread's like this that have been posted for 2 to 7 days ago have over 100 replies and ratings from people with high reputation and this is almost non existent.

      Did I do something wrong? Some feature I forgot to turn on or something like that? Or is it just pure bad luck? I really hope pewdiepie bumps on this,as I have seen him reply to similar threads like this.


      I really explained in depth what the problem is,what the cause is,and what he can do about it in a friendly and polite way. I really want an opinion.

    • You gave your opinion in a really great and nice way. And I have been subscribed since he was around 2 mil but I wold watch man of his videos before that (I thought youtube subscriptions were like something you had to pay for). But yes his videos have changed slightly because of his extremely large fan base and now a lot of them are little kids. But in his strategy and horror games I remember just watching and laughing at him getting scared and confused on parts, I loved to see him just walk around trying to figure out what to do. It was just one of the best things watching him play the entire game through, every part he got stuck at and when he would sort of deny looking up cheats. But still I find his videos amazingly funny and he will always be my favourite person on YouTube. I guess thats my nostalgic view

    • I do highly agree about the "PewDiePie material"I used to watch him a long time ago. What those new fans don't get is games that are suitable for Felix, like you said,happy wheels was perfect for him. They want him to play games they enjoyed, which might no be nice to watch him play it. I really enjoyed Assassin's Creed 3, but I would definitely not enjoy watching him play it.

      That is the thing I am going for in this entire thread. He changed from being himself,to being "other's" mainly.He play's what everyone think's it's cool and whatever THEY enjoyed. Maybe even pewd's enjoyed playing it too,but that doesn't make it pewdiepie channel material.


      My point is that he no longer play's any kind of horror or indie game.He is playing whatever 12 year old tells him to do.


      And of course some other argument's like how the troll's got to him (the rape jokes) and now he is just trying too hard to make a good joke and such.


      I am trying to say that he just isnt him anymore.Witch isn't a bad thing,as I still do enjoy him,and,as I said,he is my favorite youtuber and consider him unique.


      Maybe change will be better. But we will see. I can't wait till Amnesia a Machine for Pigs comes out.I really hope that he will become more as the pewdiepie I know and love more than now :thumbsup:

      That is the main argument for people who hate pewdiepie.It was just him maybe having a bad day,it was a weak point. Everyone makes mistakes,you can't blame him. He get's messages like those constantly and maybe it just got to him. Just a weak moment. He dedicated an entire video for it saying he is sorry.I personally hold no grudge against that particular incident,but I agree that it was something that he was obviously conflicted about.

      I couldn't agree more with you. I don't think this is about nostalgia, I started to watch PewDiePie because of his unique style and his funny way to bright up horror games. Now, I just don't know. I skip a lot of parts in his videos because I'm just not interested, and before I watched every second of them, outro included (ah, that outro with the animated bros...)
      And I would even say now he just edits too much. I enjoyed the style where he played the games, tried to solve puzzles and we were able to see it, if I wasn't interested I was just gonna skip. I never liked too much edits :(
      His channel right now more than a gaming channel became a "Smosh" of videogames, where he makes fun of them and cuts off various gameplay parts. I just seriously miss the old pewds :(

      I get why you call the 12 year olds idiots.
      But i was subscribed to him when he just had like 700k and at that time i was 12 and was not like the other 12year olds because i like the fact he played games i didn't know and isn't a mainstream CoD player (i know it was his first vid but he didn't continued it long) or something like that. The bad words and "nasty" behaviour was the funniest thing always but i was mature enough to realise that it was not good to copy that IRL. I now hate it that all those people of my age are stupid. just read the topic i made and that would make this reply clearer

      Those 8 year old kids are not even knowing what they do, they just watch him because he is popular.
      they probably don't know he is called Felix....

    • Like many other people said, I'm constantly skipping through the videos.

      Even in really good series, I find myself doing this.

      Although, if he didn't cut out the puzzle solving parts, like people suggested, there's going to be a LOT of complaining.

      In fact, I think people would be even more bored because of various reasons.
