Audio Recording suggestions

So I'm using a rather cheap headset for my current recording activities; it fits the bill for now but I'm looking for something a little more professional with a moderate price tag (£30-£50 budget).

The microphone needs to be desktop mounted (as in not part of a headset) as it will need a pop filter. Any recommendations?

You could always build a pop-filter by yourself if you wanted to.

I just need some good references on a quality microphone hehe

I checked your site Tim's, some very luxury equipment at premium prices. I'll browse through it a little more intensely tonight.

Most of the microphones on that website have sample you can play, under the description. You can find really cheap mics too if you look enough. One thing I'd say is that if you are looking at USB mic, make sure it mentions somewhere that its mic with USB. Otherwise you'll most likely end up with microphone that requires XLR cable.

Cant wait to get hands on my order I have, that hopefully arriving before Rise of the triad is out. ;3

I think I've found something that takes my interest, it's not specifically from your website (though it could be on there). It's the Samson Meteor: amazon.co.uk/SAMSON-METEOR-Sam…B004MF39YS/ref=pd_cp_ce_0. It does specifically chat about USB cables so this could be the ticket!
