  • Beatrice raised an eyebrow at being called little, the only hint of annoyance she showed. As she stared, flashes of a scene in a dark and gloomy room, trashed and ruined, flew before her mind, this man easily the most noticeable in them, glaring at her as if he were death himself. "We've met before, haven't we?" The apparent amnesiac asked cautiously. "If we haven't then you have my apologies, I don't quite remember much other than waking up here, and you just seemed quite familiar. In fact, what is this place? Oh, I'm sorry, I haven't even introduced myself."

The small magician cleared her throat. "My name is Beatrice, if memory serves me right." Her eyes wandered to the scene she'd recently left. "And that fire spirit is drooling flames. Why is she drooling? There's no reason, and she'll set fire to the building."

You know, most people call me insane...
That's what happens when I try to reason with people, they don't like it, and I eventually end up turning them to charcoal in the end...

Why are you looking at me like that?

Despite popular belief, I did not draw the avatar I'm using. I can't draw.
  • A: The sun spirit chuckles at Salamander's drooling. "I would guess that she is feeling what Kor is. I've heard that a lamia's first time is..... Well, let's put it this way. He'll probably be unable to feel anything below his waist tomorrow, and for about a week."

Y: Yuushio cleared his throat. "I meet many people. There is a lapse in my memory, so I apologize if we have met before, and I do not remember. What do you remember about our meeting?"
  • "You threatened to dismember me and have my blood vessels replaced with vines." Beatrice said automatically, her eyes narrowing as she realized what she'd just said. "The only reason I'm actually talking to you is that you may or may not know who I was. Do not make me regret this decision."

Kiha was not happy with the news she'd heard. "She- Did you- Is she-?!" The dragonkin choked, only to see Izma nodding. "You...! That tears it... She gave him her ring just for that reason!" She said angrily, reaching for her blade. Salamander didn't even notice, her eyes were glazed over, and she was actually grinning, the very air around her growing hotter as she blushed furiously. "N-now, isn't that a mite extreme there?" Izma asked, chuckling nervously as she turned to Aska and Zarak for assistance. "I mean, I don't do that hocus-pocus thing, but ain't there a way to sever connections?"

  • A: Aska smiled. "Not until they spend enough time in each others' presence to truly know each other. Until then, sensations are shared. The pleasure Mandy feels right now is reflected onto Kor, who amplifies it and returns it. A resonance between them, slowly increasing the sensation until its source stops."

Y: blinks and shakes his head. "That..... Yes..... That might have been me....." He puts a hand to his forehead. "Oh, spirits! Why can't I remember?!" He looks at Beatrice. "My amnesia is incurable, but perhaps yours is not. If you'd like, the facilities of this academy are yours to use."
  • Beatrice stared skeptically at Yuushio, unable to determine if he was lying or not. True, she could tell there was chaotic interference in the air, the place was soaked with it's magic, most likely due to the chaos arm's presence. If these things did have a degree of self-awareness, it's possible they could have erased his memory. A wild theory with little actual evidence, but she could come up with no other believable excuse for his sudden bout of amnesia. She knew the memory she shared had been less than 24 hours ago, far less.

Ugh, amnesia this, amnesia that, the symptoms seemed to be being handed out like candy at this point. Her, the boy, and now Yuushio. Who was next?!

Beatrice pinched the bridge of her nose in annoyance. "Typical... Very well, I'll take you up on your offer. Now, could you perhaps offer me directions to this academy of yours?"

Kiha's mood had not improved with that particular piece of information. "But they haven't even connected properly!" She all but shouted, turning her aggression towards Aska. "Look, spirit." She began, trying and failing to keep her voice calm. "I do not approve of this. You probably think it's funny, but I do not. This ember, YOUR student, I suspect, is essentially spying on my so- apprentice, while he is in a private moment, I might add! I do not like to threaten, but if this does not cease, I might lose what little self-control I have left. Dragons aren't known for their good tempers, after all."

"Whoa now!" Izma said, shocked. "Are you seriously threatening a spirit? That's... Actually, pretty awesome." She finished with clear admiration in her tone.
It was at this point that Salamander finally snapped out of it, jumping a bit with a yelp. "Threatening? Spirit? Awesome? What did I miss?!" She asked, glancing around as if expecting something out of the ordinary to suddenly happen.

"How long did I space out?!"

  • Yuushio nodded and guided her towards the academy, specifically the infirmary, filled with light magi. "If you wish, I can request that they attempt to heal your mind." Yuushio, by the way, has several gaps in his memory. Not just the one. Old head wound.

Aska chuckles and smiles, waiting for something to happen.

The curtain opens long enough to see Sahrah, still wrapped around Kor, with a pouting look on her face. "Oy~ That's not all you have, is it? I'm disappointed~ I wanted at least three more hours of this~ Buuuut, if you're really that spent~ I suppose I can settle for half that~" She leaves it to Kor to shut the curtain this time.
  • "That would be perfect, thank you." Beatrice said. "However, I should request that my contact with them be as little as possible. The very air around these mages is unpleasant to me, too much light magic."

    -------------

The glare Salamander had recieved could've killed her, twice, if it were possible for glares to do so. "Oh, I was just, uh..." "Having a good time watching my apprentice do the same?" Kiha finished for her. "Well, I wouldn't call it watching..." Salamander said nervously, backing away from the very angry dragonlady. "So how's the kid holding up?" Izma asked with a poorly hidden smile on her face. Perhaps she was asking just to anger the dragonkin? "...Poorly. It's a marvel he's even conscious at this point." Was the fire spirit's reply. "Do you not know the meaning of privacy?!" Kiha blurted out. Izma shot her a curious look, before chuckling. "Well, whaddaya know? I see a bit of red there, and I don't think it's cuz you're mad!" She then whispered to Salamander. "Hey, y'don't think she's... Y'know...?" The fiery spirit raised an eyebrow. "Actually, I'm starting to think she is..." "And just what do you think I am, then?" Kiha practically snarled. The oni and spirit took one look at each other, before saying it simultaneously. "Virgin."

Whatever the dragonkin was expecting, it wasn't that. It took her roughly half a minute to come up with any sort of intelligent response. "WHAT?! What does that have to do with-" "Not much." Salamander admitted. "But thanks for confirming it!" Izma added, laughing with Salamander at the dragonlady's now very red face. Speaking of which, she was now furious, just about ready to snap. Salamander was the first to stop laughing, wiping a single "tear" away from her eye. "Hee... Oh, and let me guess; sunny fed you some nonense about being unable to close the connection? Betcha he didn't say we needed to do that whole fancy agreement thingy before that was the case. I'll stop, but only because the look on your face was hilarious."

It was at this point that Salamander floated to Kiha's side. "We really have to fix that whole going without thing, though; How about I help you get some lucky lad's attention someday?" "How about I shove a canary up your coal mine instead?" The dragonkin replied aggressively, shoving the now grinning spirit away.

    -------------

It took about ten seconds for Sahrah's words to register with the half-demon, who by the way was unmistakably NOT in the best condition. Let's just say that while Lamias apparently gave the best hugs, they may or may not be have been lethal by normal person standards. His eyes widened as he realized what Sahrah was implying. "Is that a challenge?" He asked with a fire in his eyes; he refused to take the easy way out. Without another word, he closed the curtains, and the scene was once more censored.

The narrator would like to take this moment to say he'd prefer it REMAIN censored until it was well and truly finished, even though it might not make a difference at this point.

  • OOC: I would prefer one of the ten elements I brought up near the beginning.
Fire, Earth, Water, Wind, Ice, Lightning, Life, Chaos, Dark, or Light. Alchemy can be practiced, but not be the primary study.

Yuushio smiled softly and saw Beatrice to the care of one of the healers, who assisted the girl to a bed and began feeling her head, eyes closed as if I'm concentration, searching for what blocked her memories.

Aska laughed to himself at the antics. "Well, Kiha. You certainly look flustered." Zarak smirked and whispered to salamander. "Headmaster Yuushio also could use that treatment, I think." He had a devilish grin as he retreated, Poofers jumping onto the dragonkin's head and mewling cutely.
  • OOC: someone que the funeral bells; the first pf three signs (and the marker of his arrival/ other signs) Lets just say that this arrived... Early.

    ame:Plague
Species: Human (? no one knows what hides beneath the mask and robes)
    Age: assumed to be 20
    Gender: Male, most likely
    Academy of your choice: Magic
    Area of study: Dark magic
    Appearance: 3236401-9751267925-plagu.jpg
    Personality: Curt and quiet
    Weapon: Cane
Power: Decay (essentially a murder of crows or swarm of flies, depending on concentration
Other: Usually quite quiet, he seems to avoid confrontation and always has oddly shaped bottles of neon glowing liquids underneath the first coat.
    WHAT HAVE I DONE

  • OOC: You'd be surprised how much a cane can hurt if it's made out of the right materials. In fact, I imagine one could probably stick a mace head on it and call it good.

IC: Beatrice let herself be led to the bed with no resistance, laying down and trying her best to relax. She twitched as the healer scanned through her memories.

It was odd, and entirely unexpected for the healer. The memories were gone; Beatrice couldn't remember them because they they were erased completely! One of the only recoverable memories the healer could find was that of a voice of some sort communicating something to her, flashes of lethal pain, likely from some influence attempting to stop her heart, and the magician taking a white gem from her bag and blowing herself up with it.

Frowning, the healer exited the girl's mind. "I've done all I can, blade-master. It's not amnesia, though I wish it were that simple... Most of her mind's been thoroughly wiped, perhaps by herself. Someone wanted her dead, sir, and they had enough power to stop her heart without being anywhere near her." He gave the magician a glance. "Perhaps something in her supplies would be of better help; she looks the type to carry a journal." The healer gave a bow. "That is all. Good day, blademaster." He said before leaving to tend to some other business.

With a groan, the magician sat up, suffering from a minor headache.

    --------------

Unwilling to dignify the offending spirit's observation with a response, Kiha only glared. Salamander however, smirked as she listened to Zarak. "That's not a bad idea... Think I should try getting 'em together?" She whispered back, chuckling as Kiha jumped slightly from the sudden "attack" by a certain cat, though she did nothing upon realizing it was just a cat. She did, however, calm down a small amount just from the sight of him. "What do you think you're doing?" She eventually asked the cat, for some reason. "I'm not in the mood for you, go back to your owner."

  • Yuushio grumbled and tilted his head slightly. "Hmmmm. Well, is there anything you have that may help us piece things together?"

Zarak chuckled slightly at Salamander's question and nodded. "I say go for it." Poofers, meanwhile, mewled at Kiha and pawed at her face gently. "Mrow!" He mewled out enthusiastically.
  • OOC: If this isn't ok, Ill remove the post and replace it with his arrival; a bit of buildup that connects to his past and future is what this is. Also, the top of the cane is actually a seemingly gold (gold-plated steel) bird skull with a sharp, straight beak.

IC: Bells toll off in the distance, and yet they seem to come from every direction, as if encircling the area. rumours spread of odd symbols out in the courtyard. Runes. The runes translate to "the bells toll; Plague comes" , and A nearby rock is split clean in half, a green, rancid ooze coming out that smells similar to decaying flesh. A shadow walks toward the school from the distance
    WHAT HAVE I DONE

  • "I believe so, I'm sure I do have a journal with me. Come to think of it, I should've checked for one in the first place. Give me a second." Without another word, Beatrice opened up her bag, reaching inside it. "Bigger on the inside, it seems. Hm... Some bones... A chair..." She took her arm out, and instead peered inside the bag. "Multiple colored gems... Various staves... Several liquids in labeled glass bottles... Ah!" She reached in again, pulling out what seemed to be a large leather-bound tome; Large enough to substitute for a club if need be.
Shrugging, the dark mage pulled out the (surprisingly light) chair as well. Only now did she realize how disturbing it looked; it looked as if it was built partially out of a creature's bones. She could almost see uncomfortable looks on the healers without even looking. As she took her seat, she had a very bad feeling that whoever she was wasn't exactly a pleasant person.

She instinctively snapped her fingers, using her magic to carry the chair, and by extension herself, a few feet into the air. "I believe that we, or at least I, should go elsewhere..." She glanced at the healers. "They do not appear all too happy with me right now..."

    ----------

The grin Salamander was wearing could've been described as creepy by many. "Oh, it'll take some effort, but I think I can set 'em up. I could try setting Yuushio on a blind date and guilt tripping him into going, and then I'd just have to deal with fire and brimstone there."

Kiha's eyes twitched as the kitten pawed at her face. In one quick motion, she'd grabbed the small cat by the scruff of the neck, and held Poofers in front of her face as she stared intently.

  • Zarak grinned widely. "I'll trust that you can handle it." He offered his hand to Salamander. "Deal?"

Poofers mewled cutely at being held and licked kiha's face gently, mewling cutely at her. He really was an adorable little kitten, his eyes so big and innocent, his tongue gently licking her, his paws then reaching up and grabbing Kiha's hand, almost hugging it as he playfully nipped her hand, not hard enough to hurt, more tickling than anything.

Yuushio nodded and followed Beatrice wherever she went. These memory lapses.... He couldn't remember anything beyond about three hundred years ago.... Why?
  • The fire spirit glanced at Kiha before happily taking Zarak's hand, holding back her flames to prevent accidental burning. "Deal."

Kiha stared at the young kitten, right in the eyes as her expression remained stony. This continued for a good thirty seconds before she broke; placing Poofers on her shoulder and slowly petting him with a hint of a smile on her face.

    -------

Beatrice, levitating her journal in front of her and opening it, had gone straight out the door via the floating chair. Apparently, she was still quite good at levitation. She skimmed through the pages at rapid speed, her eyes going through it faster than many would think possible; Those eyes widened as she saw what she was reading.
The contents essentially consisted of highlights of her life, and research notes. Mostly research notes. But what she was researching was... horrible; She'd apparently been experimenting on innocent people for years, disposing of them in the most gruesome fashion when they were deemed useless. Speaking of years, the very first entry was dated at least a century ago, not that it mattered much to her.

Looking a bit ill, she skipped straight to the end of the journal, reading from one of the last few pages.

'A grand success! The subject, number 578, has displayed many increases in natural abilities, such as strength, endurance, and speed; only one beastman escaped, and with heavy injuries. The beast did drop a peculiar dagger, though. No matter, we'll see if my gift is as infectious as I intended...

    ...

A sheer stroke of luck! The dagger I have obtained is most definitely one of the chaos arms! And on top of that, my creation has yet again exceeded expectations! It is not an exaggeration when I say that one of my creations could potentially tear down a city, if only for the fact mere contact can spread the virus. The beastfolk have named them 'soulless', and the gift 'HellFire'; quite fitting names, really. Half of the city of Ishpa is dead, dying, or turned. With these creatures of perfection causing havoc, it will only make [The name is obscured by a blot of ink]'s return that much easier. This, coupled with the discovery of A_______'s dagger, could mean that maybe now I'll get some proper respect from him!

They've sent their guardian captain for aid, though, I saw him myself leave the city with his sister. I must be cautious, if he finds and brings back anyone competent enough to discover me, I'll be forced to leave most if not all my equipment behind.'

It didn't ease her mind much when she heard footsteps and a cane. She shut the book, a heavy slap being heard from it as she did so, and looked up.
She didn't even realize she'd been wandering towards the entrance. Walking through the door was a rather odd individual, dressed like a plague doctor. She raised an eyebrow, but did little else; It's not like they had anything to do with each other, after all.

  • Yuushio had been reading over her shoulder and sighed, following her, a hand on her shoulder in a comforting manner. The student he passed hardly drew any attention. He was, after all, accustomed to far more peculiar things. "Beatrice. A person's past is their past. You've no memory of your actions, so I do not begrudge you for them. However, this patient that was mentioned, we have to find him. He could be the key to all this. And the chaos arm..... We have to find it and destroy it." He held his head as a wave of nausea passed over him, but it soon faded, and he continued walking beside Beatrice.

Poofers mewled happily at being placed on her shoulder and purred happily, content with the scratches, his tiny head rubbing Kiha's hand, seeking more of those delightful scratches. Her touch was so different from Zarak's, so much stronger and firmer, yet just as comforting.

Zarak smiled at Salamander and retreated to a safe distance, amused at the antics of Kiha and Poofers. He sat on the grass and watched them happily.

Oritigo hardly heard Claira's words. His heart was pounding in his chest, and his breathing was heavier. He put a shaking hand to his chest, noticing the seals on his body fading slowly, dissolving. A look of horror crossed his face as he abruptly pushed Claira away and stood up, backing into a corner and holding his head, memories flashing through his head, and a foreboding feeling flashing through his body and soul. "No.... Abyssion.... Awakening......" He fell to his knees and howled in pain, memories flooding into him, ancient, powerful memories. Of a man.... A being..... Maxwell......
