OOC: Massive wall of text, incoming!
IC: -I smile at her-
Hey Jane.
So, after this, how abou-
BANG!
-With that sound, the teacher, a female eight-tailed Kitsune, appeared in the room in a column of fire, then looks around the room-
T: Looks like you all made it.
Good.
My name is Alyssa, and I will be your instructor for this course.
In here, you will learn the fundamentals of elemental energy and how to harness it.
The first thing you need to know is how the elements balance.
This will be on a test, so be sure you are taking notes.
OOC: Yes, there will be tests, and I will explain how they work when the time comes.
IC: Now, there are ten elements that make up our world.
These are:
Fire, Earth, Water, Air, Ice, Lightning, Nature, Magma, Darkness, and Light.
These elements are subdivided into three groups:
Primary, Secondary, and Tertiary.
-on the board-
Primary:
Fire, Water, Earth, Air
Secondary:
Ice, Lightning, Nature, Magma
Tertiary:
Darkness, Light
-in speech-
Now, the primary elements oppose each other, pulling at each other to maintain balance, just as a square is balanced by its corners, rough, yet stable.
The secondary elements lie between the primaries, providing further balance.
-on the board, there is a square, with, in each corner going clockwise, Fire, Earth, Water, Air-
The secondary elements also pull, attempting to get stronger than the others.
-now, there is an octagon on the board, with the secondary elements lying between the primaries, so the total order is:
Fire, Magma, Earth, Nature, Water, Ice, Air, Lightning-
Through this mass of pulling, we get the Elemental Cycle, the concept that opposing primary elements weaken each other.
For example, if a fire Mage duels a water Mage, both will grow weaker according to each other's power.
If 5 fire magi take on one water Mage, then the water Mage will be weakened by all the fire magi.
Now, onto the tertiary elements.
Unlike the primary and secondary elements, which always fight for control, the tertiary elements form an innate union.
Think of them as Yin and Yang, both halves coming together to form a strong bond.
When dark magi channel close to light magi, or vice-versa, the dark and light magi gain strength in proportion to the other mage's power.
-at this point, the bell rings-
Ah, well.
We will pick this up tomorrow with how to channel your element!
Make sure you study this!
Z: -I walk up to Jane-
Well. Some lesson, huh?
