  • Lilith: What's going on with your girlfriend there Belial? *narrow eyes and stare at Liara*
Belial: *frown* I am not sure actually. *stroke Liara's hair* Was it the woman again?
On the outside I may appear like an emotionless sarcastic piece of shit, but just like an onion, when you peel off more layers, you find the exact same thing every single time and you start crying.

If the world didn't suck, we'd all fall off!
  • Lilith: *rub head* Well you do not look so happy to hear her.
Belial: Indeed, you seem disturbed princess.

  • Alden let out a sigh.

"Very well. It started off one month ago. One man, driven to madness, snapped and began attacking everyone near him like a wild animal, it took four guardians to subdue him."

"Yeah..." Said Tanis. "That was bad, but what happened afterwards was even worse. Everyone he bit or clawed suddenly went mad, too, and some of them even mutated."
"They turned into unnatural abominations. We call them the soulless. All they feel now is hatred and aggression. We managed to seal off part of our city, but somehow, the disease is still spreading. We can slow it down, but we can't cure it. According to some victims before they go mad, it burns like hellfire. Thus, we've named this disease the HellFire. We considered sending for aid, but our kinsfolk are too proud to rely on outsiders. So, both of us personally took matters into our own hands, venturing into human lands, looking for the famed headmaster of the equally famous twin academies. As one of the more powerful men of this generation, there surely must be something he could do."

"This is where you come in, Denise." Said Alden. "According to Ilo, Undine's essence drives away all illness, and you appear to be bonded with her in some form. Without aid, it's only a matter of time before the city of Ishpa is lost"

  • S: leans up and kisses Tristam's cheek.

Z: Nods at Vlad. "Indeed I am. What of it?"

O: leans back against a tree.
    "Well, that's quite a story."
    I look at Denise.
"But, in the end, I cannot force anyone to do something, so the decision is up to you. Will you help them?"
  • The half-demon's blush could've been glowing, for all he knew.
Not only was Sahrah hugging an arm into her chest (And what's [usually] the most noticable feature on a female's chest? Guess.), she up and kissed him on the cheek for no known reason.

True, she'd been doing things like that a bit often, but Tristam was, well... Inexperienced in dealing with women. Or, women that weren't fully mature, anyway. Adults were easier to read and predict for him, if only slightly.
Hell, the closest thing he'd had to a girlfriend was when he was about five, and their friendship shattered quite spectacularly. That was a story for another time, though.

He didn't say much, despite his mild discomfort, only offering Sahrah a light smile. He couldn't up and ignore her showing of affection, after all.
Thankfully, his blush had faded for the most part as the academy came into view, as breathtaking as always.

That's when he noticed the group of people a little further up the path, though.
He recognized the beastman. After all, you don't tend to forget walking, talking foxes that aren't kitsunes that easily.
Among the others was another beastman, no, a beastwoman, Headmaster Oritigo, and a girl that looked elven, though he couldn't be sure from where he was. However, most surprisingly, Undine was there, as well.

"What about Excalibur, then? Who's guarding it now?"
Tristam asked himself, dreading the prospect of a monster like that wandering freely. He suppressed the urge to shudder, the thought alone was worthy of nightmares,

He didn't realize he'd spoken aloud until a few seconds passed, at which point Kor hastily explained.
"See those guys up ahead? The fox-man was the one I saw, the watery woman's Undine, AKA lady of the lake. She was in Excalibur's cavern when you were, uh, knocked out. You know Ilo, I'm sure, but everyone else I have no clue about. Sounds like they're talking about something, though."

A few pieces of the conversation were audible, though barely, something about disease, hellfire, and soulless abominations.
And from what Tristam could make of it, it seemed that Undine was, right now, their only hope.

He felt a bit nervous, eavesdropping, but they were pretty much asking for it! Literally anyone could walk by and hear this!

    -----------------------

Alden had brought his full attention to the elven girl, prepared to send her into a guilt trip, make her feel like crap if she even considered refusing.
As soon as he opened his mouth however, a peculiar scent in the air caught his attention. Two, in fact, one of Lavender, and the other he couldn't exactly place, as the scent of Lavender overpowered it, but it was noticable nonetheless.

"We're being watched. Students of yours, Ilo?"
He said, nodding his head towards the two strangers.

He recognized the kid as the one who rudely bumped into him. In normal circumstances, Alden would've set the brat's hair on fire. But, he was in a hurry, plus he didn't want the pretty Lamia witnessing an unpleasant scene, and simply settled with a death glare back then.
It was mostly because of the Lamia, though.

  • *she shook her head, still thinking about what she could be trying to tell her* a-anyways, i think you should see a nurse if your feeling like this, Lilith. you never know what it might be happening inside your body...*she said as she rubbed her neck*
  • O: "Ah, so you're here."
I stand and gesture to Tristam and Sahrah.
"This is Kor Tristam, a student at the Weapon Academy, and Sahrah, a guest staying here under my protection."

S: At being introduced, she bows.
    "Thank you, Headmaster."
She rises and looks at the beastfolk.
"Who are you, if I may ask?"
  • Vlad: *smirk at Zarak and nod* You're good, but if you encounter my sister, if you don't know it already, she is a living combat hell for light creatures. Just so you know. Though...it would be interesting to see that duel and I really am looking forward to it. *bow down slightly*

Denise: *look around at all those faces a bit confused and with feeling of pressure before speaking* Uh...I... *jerk and stand up straight grinning almost too violently and salute* Denise here! At your service! We shall solve everything! *turn around to newcomers and stare in wonder at lamia and half-demon* Lamia so far from home? I do not believe it...

Lilith: *nod to Liara impatiently* Yes yes I knew that already girl... *hesitate a bit* ...But thank you.
Belial: *smile* well now isn't it so nice that you two get along?
Lilith: *roll eyes* If you say so demon. *ignore another wave of sickness*
Belial: *to Liara* And don't worry we shall find out what that woman wants. Or it will be the last thing I do. *wrap hands around her and pull her closer*

"Returning to the school Icy stretched looking to Firete"
We got this Devil...he may be smart...but we are going to beat him...
F: Yep...lets end this feud and get are lifes back to normal...
"Icy nodded and slowly walked into the school rubbing his neck"

  • Both beastfolk rolled their eyes skyward.
"Third time we introduced ourselves, right?"
    "I think so, brother."
    "Once more, then."

    They cleared their throats.
"Alden Matriar, guardian captain, pyromancer, master duelist."
"Tanis, twin sister, jack-of-all-trades, brawler. Also an overall badass."
    "No, you're not."
"Yes, I am! I'm a guardian, after all!"
"That's... Actually a good point. Fair enough."

"But you guys make sure you remember our names, now..."
"...As we both hate repeating ourselves."

Alden's gaze returned to the elf as he smiled pleasantly.
"My thanks for your co-operation. However, I recommend taking at least a few minutes to prepare, or at the least inform friends and family of what you're doing."

He then turned back to the two newcomers.
"This one's a warrior, you say?" The fox said, obviously referring to Tristam, who glared suspiciously at him.
"He seems a bit on the small side for such a profession, though..."

    The reaction was instant.
"WHO'RE YOU CALLING A MOUSY LITTLE PIPSQUEAK, YOU JERK!?"
The half-demon screamed at the top of his lungs.

A surprised expression was seen on Alden's face for a split-second, before it turned into a smirk.
"That would be you, of course."

Provoking the kid turned out to be amusing to Alden as Tristam tried to throw himself at the fox, only stopped by Tanis holding him in place by the shoulders, causing him to flail wildly.

"Bro, you know better than to pick on children. What's gotten into you?"
    "He annoyed me earlier."

Tanis sent an apologetic look towards Sahrah.
"Sorry about my idiot brother... He can be a bit of a jerk."
    "I'm right here, you know."
    "And your point is...?"

The guardian captain rolled his eyes, choosing to ignore Tanis' glares for the moment.
"Anyway, we can leave whenever. I'd recommend finishing any business you have here, though. Teleportation's tiring, after all, and taking multiple people makes the fatigue worse on my sister. Who, besides Denise and Undine, is coming with us? Surely not the dwarf, right?

Tristam's violent thrashing intensified at that point.

  • Z: "Oh, believe me, I know how strong she is."
    I smirk slightly.
    "But I'm no pushover myself."

S: giggles and wraps her tail around Tristam in the blink of an eye, stopping his flailing, and pulls him closer to her.
    "I think that's enough."

C: strained from being summoned for so long, she dissipates in an icy mist and returns to Icy's being.

    U: Bows again.
"Then, until my services are again needed, I shall retire."
Vanishes into a mist, which dissolves into Denise's body.
  • "Aw, c'mon! All I want is one punch!"
The half-demon whined, failing to break free.
Though, to be truly honest, he wasn't trying very hard. ["It's so cute! He can't bring himself to go against her!" Whispered Tanis to her brother upon (barely) noticing that fact.]

Instead, he turned his secret weapon upon the lamia. Eyes wide and shining with unshed (and fake) tears, he unleashed the dreaded puppy-dog eyes on her, complete with a small whimper for extra effect.

The Matriar twins shuddered at the sight, despite not being the main target.
"Good Gaia, those eyes..." Said Alden.
    "T-they're pure... evil...!" Tanis added.

  • In the same fashion Sahrah mantained a smile, the half-demon mantained his pitifully sad-eyed stare.
That is, until he began to have a difficult time breathing and promptly stopped, the puppy-dog stare replaced by a half-hearted glare.

"Anyway..." Said Alden, attempting to shift attention to himself.
"On top of curing the Hellfire disease, we might have to push back the soulless, in the case that they are too far gone to be cured. Unless you intend to personally accompany us, Ilo, we will be requiring several decent fighters to aid us, as well. Tanis, if she takes myself and Denise, can bring six other people with her. I'd suggest taking along some volunteers."

  • *She heard a voice calling her as she looked to the door, wondering who it could be as it sounded distant.* i-ill be right back..* she said as she stepped out and went towards the voice, still calling her name. as soon as she was far enough away from liliths room, she stopped when she reached a clearing in the courtyard, looking around before she felt a hand go over her mouth, the other grabbing her wrists and binding them together*

???: So, your Eregon's little girl, arent you? my boss is going to be happy about this. *he said as he pulled her out of sight*
