    • Afraid of the Dark - FREE Horror game, part 1

      Hey guys...
So I made a horror game, it is small (only 3 levels) but this is only part 1.
In my opinion it is a little hard but it is possible to pass it all...

      *GAMEPLAY*
So you wake up and you dont know where you are and who you are.
You need to find letters on the ground for info on what to do...
Level 1 - You need to find 5 keys in rooms to unlock door to the next level (Keys spawn ONE AT A TIME)
Level 2 - You are in a hallway with rooms and you need to find some kind of a map to unlock the door to the next level.
Level 3 - Finaly, you search for 5 batteries across rooms (Beware of the Shadow) to unlock the EXIT door.
And yes when you unlock the EXIT there isnt the end.. It is a little suprise...

So this is part one and it is lame some kind :D because I was in a hurry when I was making it. BUT part two is going to be better in every way, better story and graphics (I`ve been working on part II for 2 weeks now). And some things from part one will be explained...

      *CREDITS*
Story, level desing etc. - Antonio Perec (Me)
      Scripting help - ncmako

P.S. - Pewds`s photos are in the game only because I like him. Dont think this game is about him.
P.S. 2 - You may encounter sound problems (footstep lag)
      P.S. 3 - You better save your game in level 3. :)

I dont have any game video now, but I have some pics.

      *PICS*
Level 1 - Tip on what to do

      Pewdie! :D

      Level 2 - Hallway

Level 2 - Map you need to find

      haha :D

Level 3 - *NOT WHOLE, ONLY ONE HALLWAY*

      Level 3 - EXIT DOOR!!

      Level 3 - BARRELS!!!!!1!

      And the Main Menu...

And thats it.. Sorry for the big post guys...
You can contact me in private message or at gamemaker1111@gmail.com for criticism, suggestions etc...

    • I hate to say it but I played through the first level of this and it seemed pretty rough around the edges. There did not seem to be anything that can stop the game or chase you nor was there any music. The first level was bugged for me and could not be completed even though I had all 5 keys.

I'm posting a video to this link (still processing at the moment) so perhaps you could look at the music I included about 2/3 minutes in? It was only music I dragged off of a free play music website, and would make the game play a lot better in my opinion. Here's the link to the actual music I used.

Thanks for taking the time to make the game anyway!

      Hey. Thanks for replying.
Gameplay: Part 1 was only a test version and part 2 will be a lot better.
The music: I haven't put any music inside because of the atmosphere. Most of people liked it, and some not.
I can't watch the video yet, but you can complete the first level. Doors are opening with E key.
Here is a Let's play so see for yourself: Afraid Of The Dark PART 1 (PEWDIEPIE IS SHADOW?)

Just to let you know, change the name of this game right now. There's already two other games with this name and it's really cliche and unoriginal.
      ???
I looked on the Google before I started making it and there is only a game called Don't be afraid of the dark...
Can you post me a link of a game or anything that mention that game?
      Well fcuk...

    • I played it, and I think there's a few things that I think you should improve before you try something larger~ uvu

Firstly, whenever you get close to another object, the screen shakes uncontrollably, and sometimes I get a white screen when loading the game? Is that supposed to happen? I'd also like to see a bit more detail when it comes to maps, especially in the hallways, since there was only a few rooms with furniture or objects. (unless you want it to have a more abandoned feeling to it)

Also yeah, it would be wonderful to have some ambiance in the background. uvu

Anyways, this was just my little critique, keep working on that game!

      Hey, thanks for the feedback.
I have never got any complainings about that screen shaking and white screen. And no, it's not supposed to happen. But every pc is different and there's no graphic options to tweak ingame so I think that's the problem...
And about details, yeah, I know... But I was a beginner so sorry about that.

I would suggest using another game engine. I'm using the one called "Unity" it's very popular but can be really helpful if you know what you're doing.

I HATE Unity (I have my reasons) and that's why I'm not using it. What's wrong with this engine?
And btw I already tried changing game engine but I just can't find any that is as good as Unity for example.
